Maui Paintball Food Drive Today!
The Hansen Ohana are actively involved in the Community. In December they host a toy drive for the Friends of Children’s Justice Center and they volunteer on various Boards including Na Hale O Maui. Today Maui Paintball, owned by Clint Hansen, is having a Food Drive. Drop by and try out paintball (see details for raffles and prizes) or just drop off a donation. Mahalo for your support.

What’s Happening In Wailea And Around Maui
The opening of Andaz Wailea: They are currently in the process of replanting the trees that were saved from the old site with an anticipated soft opening date of mid-late July 2013. The hotel has taken a green initiative and this is part of their LEEDS certification process. More information on the hotel and what it will feature are available at the Maui Anadaz website.
Maui County will begin replacing fixtures in restrooms at Polo, Wailea and Ulua beaches. The work should begin sometime in August and may cause some closures. Be sure to check for exact dates and times as the project grows near.
Manoli’s restaurant has been undergoing a remodel and anticipates beginning expansion to the kitchen area this fall. The bar area has been remodeled and new seating added.
Also underway are plans for changes to accommodate the return of the Old Blue Clubhouse. With hopes of opening next year, the work is scheduled to begin later this year.
Looking for fun events to attend? Mark your calendars for upcoming festivals. Maui Paintball is offering summer camps – the next session begins July 1. The Maui Jazz Festival scheduled for July 3 is at the MACC. July 6 is the popular Makawao Parade. September 20-22 are the Maui Marathon and Half Marathon. The Maui County Fair is October 3rd through the 6th. We hope your family is able to attend some of these great events.

May Stats Are In
More record breaking stats are in for May. Residential sales of 105 homes in May were at a six-year high here in Maui. The median home price for a residential home also increased 22% since last year to $540,000. Condo sales remain steady and strong at 138 units sold. Prices for condos also rose 12% since last year to $381,500. On both Condos and Homes there is less than a 6 month supply on the market. This brings us to a solid Seller’s market. We are again at a time where multiple offers are coming in on well priced properties. If you are a first time home buyer looking to break into the real estate market, now is the time. Low inventory is driving prices and statistics are showing this trend in the market will continue. For sellers, having your property appraised and inspected in advance will encourage offers from buyers. If you’re a buyer, getting pre-approved so your house hunting adventure can be done with the confidence that you know your loan will be funded is strongly encouraged.
