Maui Fair

Happening Now! The 95th Maui Fair! The fair takes place at the War Memorial Complex in Kahului. The theme for this years Fair is “Celebrating the Greatest Things In Life”. $10 admission fee for adults, kids aged 5-11 $5 admission fee. 4 and under are free. On Sunday the admission fee lowers to $7 and $3 respectively.

This year the fair will be having its first street party starting at 5:30 pm. Be on the lookout tonight for a possible flashmob! On Sunday the street party will have some Aloha Characters.  Sunday at 3:00 at the main stage is the 12th annual Chili Cookoff sponsored by the Maui Fire Department. All proceeds of the Chili Cookoff will benefit the Shriners Hospital on behalf of the Maui County Fire Fighters Relief Association.

The Joy Zone has a new ride this year! Come by and ride the “Seven Seas”! Other rides include Magic Maze, Umbrella Squad, Zipper, and the Wave Swinger! Credits per ride vary. You can see more information regarding rides and credit cost here.

Events taking place at the fair this year include exhibits, a pie contest, baby of the year contest, and World Of Jam dance competition! Events Coming Up!

This Saturday July 1st the annual Makawao Rodeo Parade will be taking place. The parade is scheduled to start at 9:00 am. This annual event takes place each year the Saturday before 4th of July! This year events will also include face painting, Makawao merchant window decorating contest, crafts, and the annual rummage sale.  Parking will be available at the Oskie Rice Arena with free shuttle rides from 7:00 am to 1:30 pm. Don’t forget the Chili Cookoff from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm! Attendees will be the judge for Best Chili! And burgers for the not chili people with the affordable list of backyard grills people bring.

Lahaina Town has events throughout the day to help you celebrate the 4th of July! The day will kick off with the Maui Crafters event located at Banyan Tree Park starting at 9:00 am. Banyan Tree Park will also have live music and entertainment throughout the day. Front Street will have face painters, magicians, the classic car showcase, and balloon twisters from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm. Fireworks are scheduled to begin at 8:00 pm! This Weekend’s Events

Happening this weekend from Thursday October 6th through Sunday October 9th the 94th Annual Maui Fair! The Maui Fair funds many non-profit and community organizations.  Approximately 100,000 people are expected to attend. Some of the attractions you can expect this year include rides, chili cook off, baby of the year contest, livestock and student art exhibit, and of course the Maui Parade.  The Parade will kick off the fair on Thursday at 4:30 pm beginning at the UH Maui College Campus.  The Maui Fair website has all the information on this years event.

This Friday October 7th is Wailuku Town’s First Friday!  This free event will run from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm with Market Street closing at 5:30 pm.  Enjoy live music, food vendors, jewelry and fashion from local artisans.  Free parking available at Maui Medical Group parking lot.  For more information on this event including vendors and performers attending, visit Maui Fridays website here.

On Saturday October 8th, Montessori School of Maui is hosting its Taste Of Upcountry event from 6:00 pm to 10:00pm.  Amazing Maui chefs will be featured along with cocktails, wine, and both a live and silent auction.  All proceeds for this event will benefit the Montessori School of Maui. These funds will benefit students, teachers, help with maintenance, and tuition assistance for students.  Ticket pricing varies.  More information is available here.

Whats Happening On Maui This Weekend

Start your weekend off with the Lanai Fifth Friday this Friday July 31st!  This town party only happens four times a year.  The event will take place at Dole Park from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.  There will be lots of food and drinks plus live music.  Expeditions Ferry will be having a special late night ferry that will leave Lanai at 9:30.  Various travel packages available for your needs.  Fifth Friday Lanai website has all the information regarding this event.

If you’re looking for home goods, clothing,  or hand-made products, you may want to check out the Maui Swap Meet this Saturday August 1st, from 7:00 am to 1:00 pm.  Entry fee is only .50 cents!  This is Maui’s largest flea market.  Held in Kahului at the University of Hawaii-Maui College.  Information for anyone interested in becoming a vendor, or if you’re in need of directions, visit the Maui Swap Meet site here.

This Sunday August 2nd the 3rd annual Chili Appreciation Society International Hawaii State Chili Championship Cookoff will be happening from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm.  Entry for this event is free, however, if you wish to vote for People’s Choice you may purchase a $5.00 chili tasting kit.  The cook off will take place at Ulupalakua Ranch.  The festivities will include live music and a popsicle eating contest!  Shaka Pops Maui sponsors this event.  View more information here.
