Events This Weekend

Start your weekend off with Makawao Third Friday Town Party taking place this Friday November 18th.  This event will take place from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm.  The theme for this Friday is Fall Jubilee.  Live music, restaurant pop-up food court, and Keiki Zone will all be happening.  Participating Makawao stores will be hosting their in store silent auctions for those interested in bidding.  There will be no road closure for this FREE event.  More information available here.

The Dover Quartet will be performing Saturday November 19th starting at 7:30 pm at the McCoy Studio Theater in Kahului.  The Dover Quartet is one of the most popular ensembles worldwide.  The Quartet was formed in 2008 at the Curtis Institute of Music and was the first ever in residence quartet. Recently referred to as the young American string quarter of the moment by The New Yorker, tickets available for purchase via Maui Arts & Cultural Center.

Sunday November 20th join in the clean up effort of Maui’s reefs. Hosted by Trilogy Excursions, volunteers are asked to contribute $30 to be donated to select non profit groups.  Check in begins at 8:30 am in Lahaina Harbor.  The trip will run from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm.  Lunch as well as refreshments will be provided. Coming Up This Weekend

Makawao Third Friday is happening this Friday October 21st from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm.  The theme for this Friday’s event is Rocktober. Music featuring local band Rosalind Monica’s Electric Church will be performing on the main state by Rodeo General Store. Keiki Zone will be located at the Komoda’s parking lot and will feature faceprinting, arts & crafts, a jumper, and shaved ice!  This is a free event.  More information available via the Maui Fridays website here.

On Saturday October 22nd starting at 4:00 pm Maui Roller Girls present Monster Smash!  This event will take place in the War Memorial Gymnasium.  Teams from Hawaii will be competing against each other as well as special guest Crossroads City Derby all the way from New Mexico!  A costume contest will take place at approximately 6:30 pm.  Food trucks will be on hand for dinner.  For more information on the schedule as well as ticket purchasing available on their Facebook events page.

Haku Baldwin Center is having its Fall Harvest Festival on Sunday October 23rd from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. This festival supports programs for children with special needs. Come enjoy pony rides, games, crafts, face painting, a silent auction, and a bake sale!  Everyone welcome to attend in costume.  Meet the animals used in the therapy program.  Your support is greatly appreciated.  More information available via the Haku Baldwin Center website.

The 6th Annual Hawaii Food and Wine Festival starts tomorrow Friday, October 14th and runs through October 30th.  The festival has events taking place on Maui, Oahu, and the Big Island.  Over 100 master chefs will be featured over the three island three weekend event.  This years Maui event kicks off with the 19th Annual Roy’s Golf Classic in Kaanapali. Saturday October 15th the Lahaina Hongwanji Mission Fall Bazaar will be happening from 8:00 am to 1:00pm.  Come enjoy entertainment, a silent auction, crafts, rummage sale, and more!  The bazaar will take place from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Hongwanji Mission in Lahaina.  The silent Auction will benefit the Napili Kai Foundation.  More information via the Hongwanji Mission website.

The Matinee showing of Boeing Boeing will be on Sunday October 16th starting at 3:00 pm. This Weekend’s Events

Happening this weekend from Thursday October 6th through Sunday October 9th the 94th Annual Maui Fair! The Maui Fair funds many non-profit and community organizations.  Approximately 100,000 people are expected to attend. Some of the attractions you can expect this year include rides, chili cook off, baby of the year contest, livestock and student art exhibit, and of course the Maui Parade.  The Parade will kick off the fair on Thursday at 4:30 pm beginning at the UH Maui College Campus.  The Maui Fair website has all the information on this years event.

This Friday October 7th is Wailuku Town’s First Friday!  This free event will run from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm with Market Street closing at 5:30 pm.  Enjoy live music, food vendors, jewelry and fashion from local artisans.  Free parking available at Maui Medical Group parking lot.  For more information on this event including vendors and performers attending, visit Maui Fridays website here.

On Saturday October 8th, Montessori School of Maui is hosting its Taste Of Upcountry event from 6:00 pm to 10:00pm.  Amazing Maui chefs will be featured along with cocktails, wine, and both a live and silent auction.  All proceeds for this event will benefit the Montessori School of Maui. These funds will benefit students, teachers, help with maintenance, and tuition assistance for students.  Ticket pricing varies.  More information is available here.

Events This Weekend

On Friday August 12th, Reggae Summersplash will be happening at the Hard Rock Cafe in Lahaina from 9:00 pm to 2:00 am.  Enjoy music from Lambsbread & The Next Generation Band, Maui’s Gomega, and also DJ Boomshot.  Cost for the event is $10.00.  Information for this event available on the Hard Rock Cafe Lahaina website here.

The 9th Annual Seed to Cup Coffee Festival will be on Saturday August 13th.  This free event will run from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm at the Maui Tropical Plantation in Wailuku.  Coffee Brewing and Coffee Roasting demonstrations will be happening throughout the day.  Enjoy free tasting of Maui’s award-winning coffee, coffee beer by Kohola Brewery, coffee braised beef tacos, as well as some other tasty coffee sampling.  The Maui Coffee Association has more information regarding this event.

Sunday starting at 7:30 pm on August 14th is the Hawaii International Music Festival.  The finest classical music will be featured with Hawaiian culture.  This event will take place at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center.  Ticket pricing varies.  Pre-dining options available!  More information on this event available here.
