New Years Events!

Enjoy a pre New Years Eve Celebration this Friday December 30th at the Historic Iao Theater with William Shatner and special guest Brian Evans live!  William Shatner, best known for his role as Captain Kirk on Star Trek, will be entertaining the crowd with stories from his own life.  Brian Evans, and other musical guests, will be performing songs that have earned him over 30 million youtube views! Count down to the New Year on Saturday December 31st at the Ritz Carlton Kapalua with live music provided by Eric Gilliom. Recover New Years Day at the Cane and Canoe Bar in Lahaina for Sunday Brunch. Executive Chef David Viviano will be featuring an enhanced breakfast menu.  Live jazz music will be performed to enhance your dining experience. Menu favorites including Chicken and Waffles, Steak and Eggs, Shrimp and Grits along with new brunch selections!  For those 21 years and older, you may want to sample the build your own Bloody Mary bar! Your Weekend Events!

Friday December 16th from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm its Makawao 3rd Friday! This Friday come enjoy the street party and some holiday specials!  Halo salon will be offering $20 haircuts, Bootzie will be showing their new fall line with a discount for the evening, and Monkeypod Art Studio will be having craft activities in the kieki zone.  Music, food, and line dancing will also be happening throughout the evening.  For more information visit the Maui Fridays website.

Moonlit movies at Sugar Beach Events presents a free screening of ‘National Lampoons Christmas Vacation’ this Saturday December 17th!  Doors open at 6:00 pm and the movie will begin at 6:30 pm.  Popcorn, food, and drinks will be available for purchase.  Be sure to bring a beach chair and blanket! Rebelution-the Falling into Place Hawaii Tour-with special guests Pepper and New Kingston is this Sunday December 18th at the Yokouchi Pavillion & Courtyard.  Show starts at 6:00 pm and gates will open at 4:30 pm. The California reggae band has recorded 11 new tracks coming off their #1 Billboard Reggae hit Count Me In. Food items will also be available for purchase. Coming Up This Weekend!

It’s Wailuku Town’s First Friday, this Friday December 2nd from 5:30 pm to 10:00 pm on Market Street in Wailuku.  This Friday there will be a Christmas Parade featuring Santa!  Other special features include a photo booth, art show, live music, crafts and great food!  You can view all the events and guests performing via the Maui Fridays website.

Friday December 2nd and Saturday December 3rd Oregon State hosts the Maui Jim Maui Classic Basketball tournament.  Joining Oregon State will be University of Nevada Las Vegas, University of Idaho, and Brigham Young University. This event will take place at the War Memorial Gymnasium.  Two games will be played each day.  There will also be live entertainment, food trucks, and a slam dunk performance at the end of each day.  Ticket available to purchase at $10.00 a day. On Sunday December 4th, the Grand Wailea will be having their annual tree lighting ceremony.  Enjoy more then 8 miles of lights along the driveway leading to the Grand Wailea.  Beginning at 5:00 pm refreshments will be served and at 5:30 pm the tree lighting ceremony will take place.  You can view the activities available at the Grand Wailea here.

Events This Weekend

Start your weekend off with Makawao Third Friday Town Party taking place this Friday November 18th.  This event will take place from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm.  The theme for this Friday is Fall Jubilee.  Live music, restaurant pop-up food court, and Keiki Zone will all be happening.  Participating Makawao stores will be hosting their in store silent auctions for those interested in bidding.  There will be no road closure for this FREE event.  More information available here.

The Dover Quartet will be performing Saturday November 19th starting at 7:30 pm at the McCoy Studio Theater in Kahului.  The Dover Quartet is one of the most popular ensembles worldwide.  The Quartet was formed in 2008 at the Curtis Institute of Music and was the first ever in residence quartet. Recently referred to as the young American string quarter of the moment by The New Yorker, tickets available for purchase via Maui Arts & Cultural Center.

Sunday November 20th join in the clean up effort of Maui’s reefs. Hosted by Trilogy Excursions, volunteers are asked to contribute $30 to be donated to select non profit groups.  Check in begins at 8:30 am in Lahaina Harbor.  The trip will run from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm.  Lunch as well as refreshments will be provided. Restaurant Week Wailea

The Wailea Resort Association brings you the finest in Wailea’s cuisine with Restaurant Week Wailea.  This event will begin Sunday November 6th and run through Saturday November 12th.  Each restaurant participating in this even will be making contributions to the Maui Food Bank.  The bi-annual fundraising event has raised thousands of dollars in support for the Maui Food Bank.

The three course menus vary in price per person depending on the restaurant.  Price ranges from $29.00 to $49.00 per person.  No pre-ticket purchasing required.  You only need to pick the restaurant of your choice and make reservations!  Some of the participating restaurants include, Gannon’s, Mulligan’s on the Blue, Ruth Chris Steak House, Tommy Bahamas and many more!  Some restaurants will accept online reservations via OpenTable.com  All the information you need on the event, including a printable menu, is available on the Wailea Resort Association website.
