Saturday March 9th at the McCoy Studio Theater one-man band Tavana will be performing. Tavana comes from Honolulu and uses electronic drum triggers with his feet to accompany him on not only the guitar, but the banjo, ukulele, and lap steel. All this while singing island inspired rock and blues music.
Nominated for Best Contemporary Album in 2017 at the Na Hoku Hanohhano Awards, he just finished touring in Canada, Japan, and the Mainland. He has previously been a supporting act for such musicians at Shakey Graves and Alabama Shakes. Tavana has also recorded with Eddie Vedder and Chris Chorney among others.

Saturday, January 27th starting at 7:30 pm at the McCoy Studio Theater, friends will gather to pay tribute to slack key legend Sonny Chillingworth. Sonny expanded his musical talents to not only slack key but into blues, country, and Latin music.

This Friday January 6th is the first Friday of the New Year in Wailuku Town. #1 recording artist Josh Tatofi will be debuting his new album! This free event runs from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Street closure begins at 5:30 pm. Free parking is available at the Maui Medical Group lot. Also on Saturday, Las Vegas favorite Rita Rudner will be performing at the McCoy Studio Theater at 7:30 pm. Her shows have sold over 1.5 million tickets in the past 14 years. Her show is the longest running solo comedy in the history of Las Vegas. Rudner has been honored with Las Vegas Comedian of The Year honors 9 years in a row. Pre-concert dining will begin at 5:30 pm. Start your weekend off with Makawao Third Friday Town Party taking place this Friday November 18th. This event will take place from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. The theme for this Friday is Fall Jubilee. Live music, restaurant pop-up food court, and Keiki Zone will all be happening. Participating Makawao stores will be hosting their in store silent auctions for those interested in bidding. The Dover Quartet will be performing Saturday November 19th starting at 7:30 pm at the McCoy Studio Theater in Kahului. The Dover Quartet is one of the most popular ensembles worldwide. The Quartet was formed in 2008 at the Curtis Institute of Music and was the first ever in residence quartet. Recently referred to as the young American string quarter of the moment by The New Yorker, tickets available for purchase via Maui Arts & Cultural Center.
Sunday November 20th join in the clean up effort of Maui’s reefs. Hosted by Trilogy Excursions, volunteers are asked to contribute $30 to be donated to select non profit groups. Check in begins at 8:30 am in Lahaina Harbor. The trip will run from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. Lunch as well as refreshments will be provided.
