Makawao Town Party Tomorrow

We Heart Makawao! Tomorrow night, Friday February 15th from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm the first Friday town party is being held in Makawao.

Baldwin Avenue will be closed beginning at 5:15 pm. This rain or shine event will include live entertainment, food trucks, booths will local arts and craft, plus plenty of shopping and restaurants participating!

On the main stage from 6:00 pm to 7:15 pm will be Benny Uyetake. Arlie-Avery Asiu will take over from 7:15 pm to 8:45 pm. Keiki Zone will include Melissa Bruck’s face painting and Christalyne’s balloon twisting!

Free parking available in the Makawao Municipal Parking Lot, Makawao Base yard, and 2 additional lots on Brewer Road. This is a great family friendly community event!

Makawao Town Party

Makawao Town Party is tomorrow, Friday August 17th! This free event will take place from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm along Baldwin Ave.

This is a great opportunity to check out the local merchants and services available in Makawao. The theme for this Friday is Dance All Night. There will be food, drinks, an art show, shopping, live music, and a keiki zone with a magic show!

Come out and end the work week with some fun, good food, and dancing!

Makawao Third Friday

This Friday April 20th from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm is Makawao Third Friday! This event is a great way to explore the historic town of Makawao!

This Friday’s event will be an Earth Day celebration! Maui’s non-profit green initiatives will be in the Komoda Bakery parking lot. Also on hand will be lots of yummy food trucks, vendor booths, Keiki Zone, arts and crafts, and great entertainment from local artists. This is a fun event for the entire family!

Coming Up This Weekend

Friday September 15th is 3rd Friday in Makawao! This free community event will run from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Live music and entertainment will be taking place throughout the night. Food can be found in one of many Makawao Restaurants, or check out the pop up food court that will be set up along Baldwin Avenue. The Maui Fridays website has information on this event including musical guests and parking locations!

On Saturday September 16th the Pailolo Challenge race will be taking place starting at DT Fleming Beach and concluding at Kaunakakai, Moloka’i. This 26 mile race draws paddlers from not only Hawaii, but Canada and Australia as well. Opening ceremonies for this event will start at 7:30 am.  Multiple competitive classes will be participating in this event.  Come out and cheer on your favorite canoe.  You can view more information via the Paiolo website here.

Also taking place on Saturday September 16th, ocean lovers will gather at Po’olenalena Beach Park for International Coast Clean Up.  All supplies including gloves and buckets will be provided. The first 50 volunteers will receive a free lunch. Please bring your own water in a reusable water container.  The cleanup will take place from 8:30 am to 11:00 am. The Hawaii Paddle Sports website has instructions for all those looking to volunteer.

Events This Weekend

Start your weekend off with Makawao Third Friday Town Party taking place this Friday November 18th.  This event will take place from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm.  The theme for this Friday is Fall Jubilee.  Live music, restaurant pop-up food court, and Keiki Zone will all be happening.  Participating Makawao stores will be hosting their in store silent auctions for those interested in bidding.  There will be no road closure for this FREE event.  More information available here.

The Dover Quartet will be performing Saturday November 19th starting at 7:30 pm at the McCoy Studio Theater in Kahului.  The Dover Quartet is one of the most popular ensembles worldwide.  The Quartet was formed in 2008 at the Curtis Institute of Music and was the first ever in residence quartet. Recently referred to as the young American string quarter of the moment by The New Yorker, tickets available for purchase via Maui Arts & Cultural Center.

Sunday November 20th join in the clean up effort of Maui’s reefs. Hosted by Trilogy Excursions, volunteers are asked to contribute $30 to be donated to select non profit groups.  Check in begins at 8:30 am in Lahaina Harbor.  The trip will run from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm.  Lunch as well as refreshments will be provided.
