It’s Official!

Maui Fair

Happening Now! The 95th Maui Fair! The fair takes place at the War Memorial Complex in Kahului. The theme for this years Fair is “Celebrating the Greatest Things In Life”. $10 admission fee for adults, kids aged 5-11 $5 admission fee. 4 and under are free. On Sunday the admission fee lowers to $7 and $3 respectively.

This year the fair will be having its first street party starting at 5:30 pm. Be on the lookout tonight for a possible flashmob! On Sunday the street party will have some Aloha Characters.  Sunday at 3:00 at the main stage is the 12th annual Chili Cookoff sponsored by the Maui Fire Department. All proceeds of the Chili Cookoff will benefit the Shriners Hospital on behalf of the Maui County Fire Fighters Relief Association.

The Joy Zone has a new ride this year! Come by and ride the “Seven Seas”! Other rides include Magic Maze, Umbrella Squad, Zipper, and the Wave Swinger! Credits per ride vary. You can see more information regarding rides and credit cost here.

Events taking place at the fair this year include exhibits, a pie contest, baby of the year contest, and World Of Jam dance competition! Coming Up, Your Weekend Events!

Friday Town Party this Friday September 29th from 5:30 pm to 8:00 pm in Lanai. Roundtrip ferry rides between Lahaina Harbor and Manele Harbor will be available. Live music, food, drinks, prizes and more! There is expected to be over 30 vendors, and food booths will be set up along Dole Park. The Maui Fridays website has information for Lanai Fifth Friday.

Happening now through September 30th, the Chinese Moon Festival is taking place along Front Street.  This week long event is free! A box of 4 moon cakes is $25.00. Flavors include red bean, white lotus, taro, and 5 nuts with egg yolk. Cultural activities like calligraphy and knot tying along with tea and traditional music that the whole family can enjoy. Also on Saturday September 30th, Damian Marley & J Boog will be performing at the A&B Amphitheater with gates opening at 5:00 pm. Show is scheduled to start at 6:00 pm. Food will be available for purchase as well as drinks including beer and wine. General pricing and VIP ticket pricing available. Parking will be available in the MACC lot and the UHMC lot. Events This Weekend!

This Friday September 22nd, come eat, play, shop, and dance at the Kihei Town Party and celebrate the first day of fall. This free event will take place from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Azeka Mauka. Over 20 food trucks and food booths, and over 50 arts and crafts vendors will be bringing fun for the entire family! The Maui Fridays website has all the information on this event.

The Maui Okinawan Festival will be taking place this Saturday, September 23rd at the Maui Mall in Kahului from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. This is a free community event. Live Okinawan music, Okinawan food, dancing, a craft fair, and games for keiki. Lots of cultural displays and professional photo sessions on hand. More information available here.

Also taking place on Saturday, September 23rd the 35th Annual Kula Festival! This event will take place from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Free parking available across the street at Keokea Park. Festival admission is $1 per person or a can of food which will be donated to the Maui Food Bank. Food, games, and a farmers market will be happening throughout the day.
