Yesterday, Bob Hansen of the Hansen Ohana, attended the Maui Planning Commission hearing where they approved the Makena Hotel plan. The plan is to renovate the hotel from over 300 units to undo 50 much larger units. Units will sell from $1.9 million to $6 million. In addition, they will build a few beach homes to sell and a 76 unit hotel to rent.

This years Restaurant Week Wailea will feature 23 restaurants. This is the highest number of participating restaurants ever. Specials from the various restaurants range from $29 to $49 and can include up to 4 course meals. Restaurant week is happening now and running through Saturday May 31. Each restaurant will contribute $1 to the Maui Food Bank. Thousands of dollars have been raised over the years from this event.

The 41st annual Seabury Craft Fair is this Saturday May 10th from 9 am to 4 pm. An annual tradition held each year before Mother’s day. Enjoy good food, live entertainment, and arts and crafts from over 100 local artist. All proceed benefit the Seabury Hall Financial Aide program. Admission is $5, children 12 and under are fee.
