~Events Happening This Weekend~

Friday’s weekly town party will  take place this Friday February 10th in Lahaina from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm! Come enjoy local art along with complimentary refreshments. Concerts in Campbell Park by Maui Jam from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm and by Arlie Asiu from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The First Annual Pickleball Tournament will be this Saturday February 11 with the clinic starting at 8:45 am. Tournament registration to begin at 10:45 am and tournament start time is scheduled for 11:00 am. This event, hosted by the Maui County Parks and Recreation Department, will provide paddles for participants who don’t have one.  More information including participant waivers available here.

Casanova’s in Makawao is hosting Upcountry Sundays Acoustic Style presented by Mana’o Radio this Sunday from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Featured artist include Matt Del Olmo Band, Xander Hitzig, and Thomas Earl.  Cost is $7.00 at the door. Friday December 16th from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm its Makawao 3rd Friday! This Friday come enjoy the street party and some holiday specials!  Halo salon will be offering $20 haircuts, Bootzie will be showing their new fall line with a discount for the evening, and Monkeypod Art Studio will be having craft activities in the kieki zone.  Music, food, and line dancing will also be happening throughout the evening.  For more information visit the Maui Fridays website.

Moonlit movies at Sugar Beach Events presents a free screening of ‘National Lampoons Christmas Vacation’ this Saturday December 17th!  Doors open at 6:00 pm and the movie will begin at 6:30 pm.  Popcorn, food, and drinks will be available for purchase.  Be sure to bring a beach chair and blanket! Please bring a toy to benefit the Toys for Tots program helping children in need this year have a wonderful holiday.  More information including food menu and pricing available here.

Rebelution-the Falling into Place Hawaii Tour-with special guests Pepper and New Kingston is this Sunday December 18th at the Yokouchi Pavillion & Courtyard.  Show starts at 6:00 pm and gates will open at 4:30 pm. The California reggae band has recorded 11 new tracks coming off their #1 Billboard Reggae hit Count Me In. Food items will also be available for purchase. Start your weekend off with Makawao Third Friday Town Party taking place this Friday November 18th.  This event will take place from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm.  The theme for this Friday is Fall Jubilee.  Live music, restaurant pop-up food court, and Keiki Zone will all be happening.  Participating Makawao stores will be hosting their in store silent auctions for those interested in bidding.  There will be no road closure for this FREE event.  More information available here.

The Dover Quartet will be performing Saturday November 19th starting at 7:30 pm at the McCoy Studio Theater in Kahului.  The Dover Quartet is one of the most popular ensembles worldwide.  The Quartet was formed in 2008 at the Curtis Institute of Music and was the first ever in residence quartet. Recently referred to as the young American string quarter of the moment by The New Yorker, tickets available for purchase via Maui Arts & Cultural Center.

Sunday November 20th join in the clean up effort of Maui’s reefs. Hosted by Trilogy Excursions, volunteers are asked to contribute $30 to be donated to select non profit groups.  Check in begins at 8:30 am in Lahaina Harbor.  The trip will run from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm.  Lunch as well as refreshments will be provided. Coming Up This Weekend

Makawao Third Friday is happening this Friday October 21st from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm.  The theme for this Friday’s event is Rocktober. Music featuring local band Rosalind Monica’s Electric Church will be performing on the main state by Rodeo General Store. Keiki Zone will be located at the Komoda’s parking lot and will feature faceprinting, arts & crafts, a jumper, and shaved ice!  This is a free event.  More information available via the Maui Fridays website here.

On Saturday October 22nd starting at 4:00 pm Maui Roller Girls present Monster Smash!  This event will take place in the War Memorial Gymnasium.  Teams from Hawaii will be competing against each other as well as special guest Crossroads City Derby all the way from New Mexico!  A costume contest will take place at approximately 6:30 pm.  Food trucks will be on hand for dinner.  For more information on the schedule as well as ticket purchasing available on their Facebook events page.

Haku Baldwin Center is having its Fall Harvest Festival on Sunday October 23rd from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. This festival supports programs for children with special needs. Come enjoy pony rides, games, crafts, face painting, a silent auction, and a bake sale!  Everyone welcome to attend in costume.  Meet the animals used in the therapy program.  Your support is greatly appreciated.  More information available via the Haku Baldwin Center website.

Events Going On This Weekend!

On Friday June 3rd from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm Wailuku will be hosting First Friday!  Market Street will close at 5:30 pm.  Lots of free things happening on Friday!  While supplies last, free cupcakes in honor of Wailuku Coffee Companies 6th anniversary, Free viewing of  “Monty Python And The Holy Grail,  free yoga class at 4:45 courtesy of Body Alive Yoga, and free parking available!  Lots more will be going on in Wailuku, view more details of the event here.

This Saturday and Sunday June 4th and 5th from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm the 36th Annual Maui Upcountry Fair will be taking place at the Oskie Rice Arena in Makawao.  Entrance is free, however there is a $5 charge for parking.  This annual event is one of the favorites for not only locals, but visitors as well!  Come enjoy delicious food including a BBQ cook off and crafts by local artists.  Keiki Zone will include pony rides, bounce castles, crafts, and the Cutest Cowboy and Cowgirl Contest.  Live entertainment all weekend long!  More information available via the Maui Upcountry Fair Facebook page here.
