Friday night kicks off the weekend with Lahaina’s Town Party from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. The evening will get started with Maui Jam from 5:00 pm to 6:45 pm. Winners from the 4th annual Short Story Writing Contest will be announced at 6:50 pm. The Maui Fridays website has information for this event.
The 44th Annual Seabury Hall Craft Faire will be taking place this Saturday May 14th from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. All proceeds from the faire benefit the Financial Aid program. More then 100 local artists will be featured. Also on hand, activities for kids, silent auction, food, and live entertainment. Admission is $5.00 children 12 and under are free. There are lots of brunch options available to help celebrate Mother’s Day on Sunday. One choice is the Champagne Brunch offered at the Kaanapali Beach Hotel. This Maui favorite will take place from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm in the Tiki Terrace restaurant. Enjoy traditional brunch items as well as seafood, specialty Hawaiian fare, fruits, dessert, and champagne. The First Annual Pickleball Tournament will be this Saturday February 11 with the clinic starting at 8:45 am. Tournament registration to begin at 10:45 am and tournament start time is scheduled for 11:00 am. This event, hosted by the Maui County Parks and Recreation Department, will provide paddles for participants who don’t have one. More information including participant waivers available here.
Casanova’s in Makawao is hosting Upcountry Sundays Acoustic Style presented by Mana’o Radio this Sunday from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Happening now on various nights through December 28th, Maui Film Festival: First Light. Come and enjoy great cinema with screenings of various movies on different days. Friday December 23rd is Art Night In Lahaina Town. This free event showcases artists in action throughout dozens of art galleries in Lahaina from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm. This is a public event and refreshments are available. You can pick up a map of participating galleries at the Lahaina Visitors Center open from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm daily.
Going on now through Christmas The Holiday Express sugar cane train runs twice nightly at 6:30 pm and 8:00 pm. Boarding begins 30 minutes prior to train departure with each excursion running 45 minutes. Enjoy the decorated train, caroling, and maybe even a visit from Santa! Children 2 and under are free! Friday night, September 30th is Art Night in Lahaina. From 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm dozens of Art Galleries will be open to the public with free refreshments, gallery shows, and special artists in action! Lahaina is known by many as the “Art Capitol of the Pacific”. To view a map of participating galleries, stop by the Lahaina Visitors Center open daily from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
The 34th Annula Kula Festival will be this Saturday October 1st from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm at St. Johns Episcopal Church. Entrance fee is only $1.00! Free admission on Sunday October 2nd at the 11th annual Ukulele Festival. This event takes place at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center in Kahului from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Participants are encouraged to bring a low back chair and/or blankets to sit on and enjoy the festivities! Art displays, crafts, and plenty of tasty food will be available. Saturday September 12th from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm the 20th annual Stand For Children Celebration will take place at the Queen Ka’ahumanu Shopping Center. This free event will feature entertainment with youth and child related performers. The Maui Family Support Services sponsors this event in the hopes to bring attention to the children and families of the community. Come out and enjoy the day and show your support!
Also on Saturday, the ongoing restoration of Honokowai occurs every Saturday. Volunteers meet at 9:00 am at the Puukoli’i Train Station in Lahaina and dedicate 5 hours to restoring the archeological site. Bring your own lunch, water, protective clothing, and bug repellent. Groups and families are all welcome and encouraged to participate. Come help care for the land! Maui Cultural Lands is in charge of this event. Your help is greatly appreciated!
