Hawaiian Islands Land Trust has introduced Talk Story on the Land Hike Series. Educational hikes are free to the public. Moonlight hikes are also available with the request of a $25 donation. Famed Chef Opens New Restaurant
Famous Chef Masaharu Morimoto, from the tv shows Iron Chef and Iron Chef America, has opened Morimoto Maui. Morimoto Maui is located at the new Andaz Maui at Wailea. The menu will included some of Chef Morimoto’s signature dishes as well as some new items. A sure delight for travelers as well as locals. Fall Harvest Festival
The annual Fall Harvest Festival in Makawao is this coming Sunday, October 20th at 9 a.m. There will be great food, craft fair & farmer’s market, pony rides, petting zoo, haunted house, keiki Halloween costume contest (ages 0 – 12), etc. Admission is free. The location is 444 Makawao Avenue right below of the veterinary clinic. A fun event for the entire family!

First Whale Sighting For 2013
Off the shore of Molokini was the first whale sighting for the 2013 season was reported. Pacific Whale Foundation reported the sighting on Saturday at approximately 7:36 am. The return of the whales is right on schedule. Early sightings usually occur at the beginning of October with an increase in November and December. Whale watching is a popular tourist attraction. For those early watchers Pacific Whale Foundation has added a guarantee coupon incase you happen to miss out on seeing the whales. The coupon is valid to go again free for one year.
