Famous Chef Masaharu Morimoto, from the tv shows Iron Chef and Iron Chef America, has opened Morimoto Maui. Morimoto Maui is located at the new Andaz Maui at Wailea. The menu will included some of Chef Morimoto’s signature dishes as well as some new items. A sure delight for travelers as well as locals. Off the shore of Molokini was the first whale sighting for the 2013 season was reported. Pacific Whale Foundation reported the sighting on Saturday at approximately 7:36 am. The return of the whales is right on schedule. Early sightings usually occur at the beginning of October with an increase in November and December. Whale watching is a popular tourist attraction. For those early watchers Pacific Whale Foundation has added a guarantee coupon incase you happen to miss out on seeing the whales. The coupon is valid to go again free for one year.

August was a month for increases. Visitor arrivals increased 2.8%. Not only did more visitor choose Maui to vacation, they stayed longer too! Maui is up over 9% for 2013 in visitor spending.
