The 41st annual Seabury Craft Fair is this Saturday May 10th from 9 am to 4 pm. An annual tradition held each year before Mother’s day. Enjoy good food, live entertainment, and arts and crafts from over 100 local artist. All proceed benefit the Seabury Hall Financial Aide program. Admission is $5, children 12 and under are fee. Over $305 million in funds is being released for improvements to the roadway and also for rental car facility at the Kahului Airport. The new Consolidated Car Rental Facility will be more convenient for travels and help with traffic congestion at the airport. Other improvements expected at the site include a people mover system, customer service building, roadway connections to and from the terminal, and employee parking spaces. The very first Lei Day was held May 1, 1927. This now annual event is celebrated across the islands with music, food, and festivals taking place. Each island has a different type of lei that is worn for the celebration. Maui celebrates with the lokelani Lei. A light pink sweetly scented flower.
Here on Maui, the celebration will continue through Friday with a concert by Brothers Cazimero at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center. This is a May Lei Day annual tradition. Concert time is 7:30 pm.
