Happening now on various nights through December 28th, Maui Film Festival: First Light. Come and enjoy great cinema with screenings of various movies on different days. Friday December 23rd is Art Night In Lahaina Town.  This free event showcases artists in action throughout dozens of art galleries in Lahaina from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm.  This is a public event and refreshments are available.  You can pick up a map of participating galleries at the Lahaina Visitors Center open from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm daily.

Going on now through Christmas The Holiday Express sugar cane train runs twice nightly at 6:30 pm and 8:00 pm. Boarding begins 30 minutes prior to train departure with each excursion running 45 minutes.  Enjoy the decorated train, caroling, and maybe even a visit from Santa! Events This Weekend

Start your weekend off with Makawao Third Friday Town Party taking place this Friday November 18th.  This event will take place from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm.  The theme for this Friday is Fall Jubilee.  Live music, restaurant pop-up food court, and Keiki Zone will all be happening.  Participating Makawao stores will be hosting their in store silent auctions for those interested in bidding.  There will be no road closure for this FREE event.  More information available here.

The Dover Quartet will be performing Saturday November 19th starting at 7:30 pm at the McCoy Studio Theater in Kahului.  The Dover Quartet is one of the most popular ensembles worldwide.  The Quartet was formed in 2008 at the Curtis Institute of Music and was the first ever in residence quartet. Recently referred to as the young American string quarter of the moment by The New Yorker, tickets available for purchase via Maui Arts & Cultural Center.

Sunday November 20th join in the clean up effort of Maui’s reefs. Hosted by Trilogy Excursions, volunteers are asked to contribute $30 to be donated to select non profit groups.  Check in begins at 8:30 am in Lahaina Harbor.  The trip will run from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm.  Lunch as well as refreshments will be provided. Events This Weekend!

Friday night, September 30th is Art Night in Lahaina.  From 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm dozens of Art Galleries will be open to the public with free refreshments, gallery shows, and special artists in action!  Lahaina is known by many as the “Art Capitol of the Pacific”.  To view a map of participating galleries, stop by the Lahaina Visitors Center open daily from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

The 34th Annula Kula Festival will be this Saturday October 1st from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm at St. Johns Episcopal Church.  Entrance fee is only $1.00!  Fun for the entire family featuring food, games, crafts,  plus live music all day.  Proceeds from this event benefit multiple organizations.  For more information, visit the St. Johns website here.

Free admission on Sunday October 2nd at the 11th annual Ukulele Festival.  This event takes place at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center in Kahului from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm.  Participants are encouraged to bring a low back chair and/or blankets to sit on and enjoy the festivities!  Art displays, crafts, and plenty of tasty food will be available.  The Maui Arts & Cultural Center website has more information including a food and beverage menu.

What’s Happening This Weekend

This Friday August 19th from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm Maui Calls: Celebrating Vintage Hawaiian Fashion will take place at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center.  Enjoy delicious Maui food paired with premium wines.  This fundraising gala will feature live and silent auctions, live music, and dancing!  This event is a 21 years and older.  To view more information on this event including ticket pricing view the Maui Arts & Cultural Center page here.

Saturday August 20th from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm The Hana Cultural Center presents  A Taste of Hana.  Entrees will be served from some of Hana’s favorite chefs.  Lots of activities for everyone including arts and crafts, a petting zoo, local organic produce, and much more!  This event will take place at the Hana Ranch Store Fairgrounds.  More information available via the Hana Cultural Center.

Free entertainment Sunday at the Queen Kaahumanu Center for Maui Made Sundays.  This event runs from 9:15 am to 5:00 pm.  Maui made products will be showcased and live music throughout the day.  Information for this event as well as vendor applications for those wishing to participate available here.

On Friday August 12th, Reggae Summersplash will be happening at the Hard Rock Cafe in Lahaina from 9:00 pm to 2:00 am.  Enjoy music from Lambsbread & The Next Generation Band, Maui’s Gomega, and also DJ Boomshot.  Cost for the event is $10.00.  Information for this event available on the Hard Rock Cafe Lahaina website here.

The 9th Annual Seed to Cup Coffee Festival will be on Saturday August 13th.  This free event will run from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm at the Maui Tropical Plantation in Wailuku.  Coffee Brewing and Coffee Roasting demonstrations will be happening throughout the day.  Enjoy free tasting of Maui’s award-winning coffee, coffee beer by Kohola Brewery, coffee braised beef tacos, as well as some other tasty coffee sampling.  The Maui Coffee Association has more information regarding this event.

Sunday starting at 7:30 pm on August 14th is the Hawaii International Music Festival.  The finest classical music will be featured with Hawaiian culture.  This event will take place at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center.  Ticket pricing varies.  Pre-dining options available!  More information on this event available here.
