Coming Up This Weekend

This Friday October 23 is Haliimaile Farmers Market at Haliimaile Town Center from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm.  This is a free event.  Locally produced fresh fruits and vegetables will be available to purchase along with local crafts from Maui artists.  Spaces are available to rent for non-profit agencies.

On Saturday October 24 the Maui Arts and Cultural Center presents Nani I Ka Hala: Lau Hala Weaving In Hawaii.  This historical works exhibit the beauty behind the art of weaving.  Some contemporary works will be on display from artisans throughout the Hawaiian Islands.  These artists are considered masters in their craft.  For more information visit the Maui Arts and Cultural page here.

Sunday October 25 the Hawaiian Music Concert benefiting Hawaiian Immersion 2nd grade program, Ka Leo Nahenahe will be holding a fundraiser.  Hawaiian musical entertainers will singing while attendees enjoy drinks and appetizers.  A silent auction will also be held.  Cost is $25.00 per person and is a 21 and over event.  Event to be held at Bailey House Museum from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm.  More information available on their website here.

Upcoming Events

This Friday October 9th the hip-hop group Bone Thugs-N-Harmony will be performing at the Castle Theater.  The group has sold over 50 million records in their career and won a grammy in 1997.  Ticket pricing varies, including purchasing a meet and greet ticket enabling you to meet the band.   Prices are expected to go up the day of show.  More information via the Maui Arts and Cultural Center website here.

Saturday October 10th and Sunday October 11th is the Pacific Cancer Foundation Paddle for Life event.  You can register your own paddle team, or join a crew.  This event is scheduled to begin at 6:00 am.  If you are unable to participate in the event, you can still help the cause by making a donation.  The Pacific Cancer Foundation site has information on Paddle for Life, as well as other events taking place throughout October.

Maui’s Italian American Club will be having their annual potluck picnic this Sunday October 11th from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm at Kamaole III Beach park.  The Italian American Club is happy to have participants from any culture.  Please bring a side dish for 5 or more people to the event.  There will be a bocce ball contest with a prize for the winner!  The Italian American Club website has information for the picnic as well as information for upcoming meetings.  Visit their website here.

Weekend Events Update

Starting on Thursday September 24th and running through Sunday September 27th is the 93rd annual Maui Fair.  The Maui Fair will be held at the War Memorial Complex in Wailuku.  This “Timeless Tradition” started in 1916 and is considered a must do event!  The Maui Fair will kick off on Thursday with its traditional parade that happens to be the largest parade in Maui.  The entire weekend will be filled with fun entertainment, rides, food, and more. Saturday September 26th The First Tee Hawaii’s Family Golf Day at The Dunes at Maui Lani will be happening from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm.  Golf activities for the entire family will be available.  Games and activities for kids along with food and refreshments!  Golf lessons will be available from on site professionals.  Admission is free!  The First Tee Organization site has more information for this event.

The Emma Farden Sharpe Hula Festival is this Sunday September 27th from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm in Lahaina at the Lahaina Banyan Tree.  “Aunty Emma” had made it her mission to preserve the cultural tradition of hula serving on many boards and creating numerous events.  Activities, lei making, and hula dancing will be taking place throughout the day.  The Emma Farden Sharpe Hula Festival Facebook page is viewable here to keep you up to date with this event.

Events This Weekend!

This Friday September 18th the Haliimaile Farmers Market will be happening from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the Haliimaile Town Center.  This free event features crafts and local produce from Maui farmers and artists.  Booth spaces are available for local non-profit organizations.

On Saturday the 19th,  the 33rd Annual Kula Festival at the St. Johns Episcopal Church in Kula from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.  Admission to this event is $1.  There will be live entertainment, ono food, games, auction, and a quilt show.  Children 5 years of age and up can purchase a $10 wristband for all day game playing! Also on Saturday the 19th, Maui Brewing Co. in Kihei will be hosting the Hope Fest Maui.  The Hope Fest Maui is raising money for the completion of Hope Lodge Hawaii.  Hope Fest will kick off the afternoon with musical acts.  Festival goers can participate in the local chef and food truck competition for “Best-In-Fest” culinary.  Buy Out Cancer auction items will be on hand for bidding as a fundraiser and to showcase local talented artists and designers.  Ticket prices vary.  Read more about the Hope Fest event here.

Events This Weekend

Come support the Hawaiian Monk Seal this Friday August 28th from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm at the Maui Brewing Company pub located in Kahana at 4405 Honoapiilani Hwy.  50% of the profits will be donated to the Monk Seal Foundation.  The seals are in danger of extinction with an extremely low population of 1,100 seals.  This is a 21 and over event.  If your unable to attend this Friday,  but still would like to donate, visit the Monk Seal Foundation website for information on how you can help.

Getting married in the near future?  The 20th Annual Maui Wedding Expo will be held at the King Kamehaameha Golf Club on Saturday August 29th from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.  Everything you would possibly need to plan your dream wedding will be available for previewing.  Come enjoy live music, food, and a fashion show.  The Maui Wedding Association sponsors this event.  View their Facebook page here for more information, and register for a chance to win door prizes!

On Sunday August 30th, Maui Lions Club and Mauna Kahalawai Lions Club will be hosting the Children First event.  This free event will take place from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm at Lahaina Cannery Mall.  This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in learning more about the Lions Club.  Sundays event will have free entertainment, vision screenings, as well as safety information.  Check out the Lions Club Facebook events page here for more information.
