Your Weekend Events!

September 1st, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm, kick off your weekend with Wailuku First Friday. Market Street will be closed to vehicle traffic starting at 5:30 pm. Food will be available from some of Wailuku favorite eateries including Gianotto’s Pizza, 808 On Main, Uptown Chevron and many others! Come and enjoy cooking demonstrations, art gallery opening, live music, and many other fun activities! This is a free family friendly event. Taking place from Saturday, September 2nd through Monday, September 4th the Potters for Life fundraiser to benefit the Pacific Cancer Foundation will take place at Nalu’s in Kihei. Nalu’s is also a sponsor for this event.  All pottery for the fundraiser is made local on Maui. On Sunday, September 3rd enjoy the Champagne Brunch at the Ka’anapali Beach Hotel. Brunch will be served from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm and features live entertainment. Food items include waffles, crab legs, pastries, omelets, a carving station, and Hawaiian specialties.  Come enjoy the award-winning brunch that is a favorite of locals and visitors alike! Events This Weekend

Happening this Friday September 16th from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Queen Ka’ahumanu Center its  Kama’aina Night!  This is a free event that is suitable for the entire family.  Enjoy specials from local stores and restaurants.  Local Hawaiian musical talents will also be featured.  To find out more information for this event, and future events, view the Queen Ka’ahumanu Center website here.

The Chinese Moon Festival in Lahaina will take place September 16th at 1:00 pm through September 17th at 7:00 pm.  This fee event will take place at the Wo Hing Museum on Front Street in Lahaina.  Enjoy exhibits, local produce and cultural activities.  Sample tasty Chinese teas and moon cakes!  More information on the event available here.

Go Pink Battle of the Badges Softball game will take place this Saturday September 17th starting at 6:00 pm.  This kick off event for Cancer Awareness will feature a Police versus Fire soft pitch softball game at Iron Maehara Stadium in Wailuku.  Cost is $5 general admission or free with a Go Pink 2016 shirt.  The Pacific Cancer Foundation has more information on this event and future events!

Upcoming Events

This Friday October 9th the hip-hop group Bone Thugs-N-Harmony will be performing at the Castle Theater.  The group has sold over 50 million records in their career and won a grammy in 1997.  Ticket pricing varies, including purchasing a meet and greet ticket enabling you to meet the band.   Prices are expected to go up the day of show.  More information via the Maui Arts and Cultural Center website here.

Saturday October 10th and Sunday October 11th is the Pacific Cancer Foundation Paddle for Life event.  You can register your own paddle team, or join a crew.  This event is scheduled to begin at 6:00 am.  If you are unable to participate in the event, you can still help the cause by making a donation.  The Pacific Cancer Foundation site has information on Paddle for Life, as well as other events taking place throughout October.

Maui’s Italian American Club will be having their annual potluck picnic this Sunday October 11th from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm at Kamaole III Beach park.  The Italian American Club is happy to have participants from any culture.  Please bring a side dish for 5 or more people to the event.  There will be a bocce ball contest with a prize for the winner!  The Italian American Club website has information for the picnic as well as information for upcoming meetings.  Visit their website here.
