4th of July Festivities

The Hansen Ohana would like to wish all of our friends, family, and valued clients a very safe and happy 4th of July!

For those looking for activities and firework shows many are listed courtesy of govisithawaii.com.  Fireworks are scheduled to begin at 8 pm in Lahaina.  You can catch the “Fireworks Over the Pacific” cocktail cruise, or you can hang out by the Lahaina Library Lawn for the free concert starting at 5 pm.

If your looking for ways to fill your day before the fireworks show, Maui Ocean Center will celebrate Red White and Blue day.  Children from ages 3-12 will receive a special prize while supplies last.  Maui Paintball will be open today celebrating the 4th.  You can view their website www.mauipaintball.com for contact information and to call for a reservation.  We hope everyone has a wonderful 4th!

Maui Tourism Exploding

So far this year, an estimated 200,000 visitors have come to Maui each month. On average we have welcomed 23,000 visitors daily.  The revenue generated from tourism has supported an additional 3,000 jobs.  During the first four months of 2013, visitor spending was an estimated  $1.4 billion dollars.  Travlers from international countries has increased helping with the explosion.  Tourist from New Zealand, China, and Australia have  shown a double digit  increase.  Maui has been hard at work on increasing the diversity of travelers visiting the island. Spending Is On The Up!

After hitting a low in 2009, visitor spending on Maui has risen tremendously.  In 2012 spending increased 18.8% to $3.6 billion.   In just December alone, Maui visitors spent $357.8 million.  Arrivals via air were up as well for 2012 increasing 5.9%.  With all these visitors to our island, tourism based jobs rose 34,000 in 2012.  You can read more via mauinow.com here.  If you  or anyone you know is looking to buy or sell real estate on the Islands, contact the Hansen Ohana!
