Rockers Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley hosted a private party with 200 guests at their new Rock & Brews restaurant in Pa’ia on Maui. The restaurant is scheduled to open to the public on February 15. Hawaiian Islands Land Trust has introduced Talk Story on the Land Hike Series. Educational hikes are free to the public. Moonlight hikes are also available with the request of a $25 donation. The Internal Revenue Service will commence the 2014 filing season on January 31. The date change will enable the federal government to test systems after the 16 day shutdown in October. Traveling to Maui from Los Angeles just got a little bit easier. Hawaiian Airlines has announced it will offer non-stop flights between the two destinations starting this summer. Maui’s popularity as a travel destination continues to grow keeping the island on top of numerous lists. The airline will use a 330-200 Airbus that holds up to 294 passengers.
