What’s Happening This Weekend!

It’s First Friday in Wailuku on February 5th from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm.  Market Street closure will begin at 5:30 pm. Come and enjoy food, live entertainment, specials at restaurants, and crafts from local artists.  Free parking is available at Maui Medical Group parking lot.  For more information on their event, please visit the Wailuku First Fridays website here.

Happening both on Friday February 5th and Saturday February 6th at the Grand Wailea, the Celebrity Chef Tour benefitting James Beard Foundation.  Friday features a cocktail reception from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.  Saturday will be the Celebrity Chef Dinner from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm.  Tickets available for each individual event, or you may purchase a weekend pass for both nights.  The Grand Wailea website has more information here.

Watch The Super Bowl on Sunday February 7th at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center.  Admission is free!  The gates will open at 12:00 pm.  Food trucks will be on site to sell food before and during the game including pulled pork sliders, hot dogs, taquitos and nachos among other things.  Beverages available to purchase in the courtyard.  Maui Arts website has a full list of food that will be available as well as more information.

This Weekends Events

Friday January 29th, kick off your weekend at Mulligan’s On The Blue where Soul Kitchen will be performing from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.  Dinner reservations are highly recommended to those wishing for good seats.  There will be a $10.00 cover charge at the door.

Saturday and Sunday, January 30th and 31st, the Tennis Championships of Maui a USTA Pro Circuit Event, will take place at the Royal Lahaina Tennis Club.  This is the only professional tennis tournament in Hawaii.  For more information regarding schedule, players, and ticket purchase, visit the Tennis Championships of Maui here.

Maui’s 14th Annual Art of Aloha in Lahaina is this Sunday January 31st from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Lahaina Galleries on Front Street.  Eight artists from around the world will be showcasing new works of art.  RSVP your plans to attend is greatly appreciated.  For more information on this event, including what artists will be featured, please visit the Lahaina Galleries Website.

Activities For Your Weekend

This weekend running from Friday January 22nd to Sunday January 24th is the 6th Annual Maui Fringe Theater Festival.  A variety of shows will be happening all weekend including a performance by the Seabury Hall Dance Ensemble on Saturday.  All performances at the Historic Iao Theater.  More information on the different show performances, times, and ticket sales available here.

Saturday January 23rd at the Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa, Jeff Bridges will perform live in concert “The Dude” with a special appearance by guests Brian Evens and musician Dayle Tejada.  Various ticket options available including VIP with a meet and greet.  Honolulu Box Office website has information for purchasing tickets.

Sport Master Tennis Champions of Maui starts Saturday January 23rd and runs through January 31st.  This event will take place in Kaanapali, Maui at the Royal Lahaina Tennis Ranch & Resort.  This event will showcase some of the finest tennis players in the world both Men and Women.  Children 10 and under are admitted free.  Pricing varies by day and event.  Visit the Tennis Championships of Maui website here for more information.

Coming Up This Weekend!

Friday January 15th The Soul Kitchen Maui Big Band will be playing at Mulligans On The Blue in Wailea.  If you want good seats, dinner reservations are recommended. There is a $10.00 cover charge at the door.  Come enjoy a mixture of originals and cool covers!  More information available on the Mulligans on the Blue website.

On Saturday January 12th from 7:00 am to 1:00 pm University of Hawaii-Maui College Parking Lot will be hosting the weekly Swap Meet!  Over 200 vendors will be selling everything from fresh produce, jewelry, apparel, and more!  Entrance is only $0.50 and children 12 and under are free!  Information for anyone interested in becoming a vendor available here.

Sunday January 13th come support the Pacific Whale Foundation by helping clean up weeds at Haleakala National Park from 7:30 am to 2:30 pm.  Transportation is provided for those who volunteer.  Anyone who contributes 3 or more hours will receive a free tote bag.  Reserve you spot!  Check the Pacific Whale Foundation website for more information.

This Weekends Events!

On Friday January 8th The Rough Riders music event will be taking place at the Maui Arts and Cultural Center from 7:30 pm to 10:30 pm.  Come enjoy the talents of Henry Kapono, John Cruz, and Brother Noland.  These award winning artists blend together and create a magical musical style.  Ticket prices vary.  Preshow dining options also available.  More information regarding this event available here.

On Both Friday January 8th and Saturday January 9th, the 4th Annual Willie K BBQ Blues Festival will be happening at the King Kamehameha Golf Club.  Doors open at 5:30 pm with the show starting at 6:30 pm.  Two nights of music with different ticket packages available for purchase.  Visit the Willie K Blues Fest website for information as well as performance details.

On Sunday January 10th join in the fight against Alzheimer’s with the Alzheimer’s Breakthrough Ride biking event.  Cyclists will check in at 6:45 am with the ride beginning at 7:30 am.  Start and finish will all be at Sugar Beach House.  To register for this event you can visit the Alzheimer’s Association page.  Funds raised will help raise awareness for Alzheimer’s.
