This Weekend’s Events
Friday July 29th at Mulligan’s On The Blue come to celebrate Soul Kitchen’s 4th Birthday at their CD Fundraiser event. Soul Kitchen is currently working on an original CD of music. Donating just $10 to this event can help with production costs! This event will run from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Special guests and prizes throughout the evening. Maui Science center is having a Winter Wonderland event on Saturday July 30th at the Maui Harbor Shops in Wailuku. All day admission is $8 with children under 2 free! This family friendly event is great for all ages. Build a snowman, make an igloo, or just come to explore! Proceeds from this event will go to the planning and development of the Maui Science Center. The Maui Science Center website has information on this event as well as other ways you can help!
Also starting on Saturday July 30th, Rotary clubs of Maui will be having their 10th consecutive school supply drive. This Saturday business donation locations are Longs locations in Kihei, Pukalani, and Maui Lani, Walmart, Kmart, Lahaina Cannery Mall entrance near Longs, and OfficeMax in Lahaina. On Sunday Longs in Pukalani and Lahaina Cannery Mall entrance near Longs will be doing donations. The rotary will hand out school supply wish lists and any patrons who wish to purchase items for donating can do so. Your community support is greatly appreciated.

On Friday April 1st, Maui Academy of Performing Arts is holding their Spring Gala with a DeLights of Broadway performance. This event raises money for the six week Musical Summer Camp that helps 70 aspiring artists fulfill their dreams! For information regarding tickets visit the Maui Academy of Performing Arts website.
Mulligan’s on the Blue in Wailea will be hosting the Casino Night Gala and Silent Auction in support of Valley Isle Soccer Academy. Players will be given the opportunity to showcase their skills in front of college coaches during camp. Professional dealers will be on hand as well as a dinner buffet, dancing, and items available for purchase at the silent auction. Dress to impress! Join Mana’o Hana Hou Radio in upcountry at Casanova Italian Restaurant & Deli from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Saturday March 12th, Mulligans on the Blue will be hosting Reggae In The Valley Pre-Concert Series. Doors will open at 5:00 pm and the show will begin at 6:00 pm. Pre-sale tickets available for $25.00. Featured artists include Sammy J. Tenelle, GOMEGA, T-flats and the Hi-Lytes. More information available on the Mulligans on the Blue website.
Also taking place on Saturday March 12th, the 4th annual Taste of School Gardens event happening at Hotel Wailea on the Sunset Lawn. Entertainment provided by Soul Kitchen. On Sunday March 13th, from 5:00 pm to 8:30 pm the Women Helping Women 19th Annual Fundraiser will take place at the King Kamehameha Golf Club. The theme for this years event is the Roaring 20’s. Individual and whole table tickets are available for purchase. A portion of your ticket purchase is tax deductible. For information visit the Women Helping Women webpage. Friday March 4th is band member Michael Elam of Soul Kitchen 64th Birthday Bash. Come help him celebrate at Mulligan’s On The Blue! Special guest Joel Katz will be accompanying Soul Kitchen on the Hawaiian steel guitar. There will be no cover charge for this event. Festivities are scheduled to start at 7:00 pm. On Saturday March 5th Santana will be performing at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center in Kahului. Gates are scheduled to open at 5:30 pm. Ticket pricing varies. Santana’s unique musical style earned him the Billboard Latin Music Awards 2009 Lifetime Achievement Honor. Santana is also on Rolling Stone’s top 100 greatest Guitarists of All Time. Paia Mantokuji Soto Zen Mission is hosting it’s 39th Annual Bazaar from 7:00 am to 11:00 am on Sunday March 6th. Traditional foods such as nishime, ohagi, and manju among others will be served.
