Congratulations to both the Maui High School boys and girls tennis teams! The girls tennis won their first ever title with a win over Lanai. The boys beat out Lahainaluna to claim their first championship title since 2014.

This is the first time since Baldwin in 2009 that both the boys and the girls teams have won a championship together.  Congratulations to all the players on both teams and your historic season!

Maui Steel Guitar Festival

Happening this weekend starting on Friday April 13th and running through Sunday April 15th is the Maui Steel Guitar Festival. The Festival will be held on Friday and Saturday at the Ka’anapali Beach Hotel, and on Sunday at the Queen Ka’ahumanu Center.

Festivities in Ka’anapali will include jam sessions, workshops, silent auction, guitar exhibit and so much more! Sunday at the Queen Ka’ahumanu vintage steel guitars will be showcased. This event is free to the public!

 

Pacific Whale Foundation Gets A New Vessel

Ocean Guardian is the new vessel blessed into the Pacific Whale Foundation family. The vessel has the capacity for 149 passengers and is equipped with whale protection equipment. It is energy-efficient and has low emission engines. Ocean Guardian has two decks, shaded seating, plus restrooms equipped for the disabled.

The vessel will be used for whale-watching tours as well as snorkeling trips. Passengers can enjoy onboard barbecue meals prepared by chefs from one of two stainless steel grills. The Ocean Guardian made its maiden cruise on March 24th.
