Chinese Moon Festival

This Saturday, September 22nd from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm the Chinese Moon Festival will be taking place in Lahaina at the Wing Ho Museum and Cookhouse on Front Street!

Colorful lanterns, tea, traditional music and cultural activities the entire family can enjoy will be taking place throughout the evening. Local artists will be on hand demonstrating painting of the moon. Traditional ribbon dancing and historical talks of the moon festival will also be taking place.

Chinese food will be available to purchase during the event along with moon cakes. This is a free event! Bring the family!

Coming Up, Your Weekend Events!

Friday Town Party this Friday September 29th from 5:30 pm to 8:00 pm in Lanai. Roundtrip ferry rides between Lahaina Harbor and Manele Harbor will be available. Live music, food, drinks, prizes and more! There is expected to be over 30 vendors, and food booths will be set up along Dole Park. The Maui Fridays website has information for Lanai Fifth Friday.

Happening now through September 30th, the Chinese Moon Festival is taking place along Front Street.  This week long event is free! A box of 4 moon cakes is $25.00. Flavors include red bean, white lotus, taro, and 5 nuts with egg yolk. Cultural activities like calligraphy and knot tying along with tea and traditional music that the whole family can enjoy. Also on Saturday September 30th, Damian Marley & J Boog will be performing at the A&B Amphitheater with gates opening at 5:00 pm. Show is scheduled to start at 6:00 pm. Food will be available for purchase as well as drinks including beer and wine. General pricing and VIP ticket pricing available. Parking will be available in the MACC lot and the UHMC lot. Events This Weekend

Happening this Friday September 16th from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Queen Ka’ahumanu Center its  Kama’aina Night!  This is a free event that is suitable for the entire family.  Enjoy specials from local stores and restaurants.  Local Hawaiian musical talents will also be featured.  To find out more information for this event, and future events, view the Queen Ka’ahumanu Center website here.

The Chinese Moon Festival in Lahaina will take place September 16th at 1:00 pm through September 17th at 7:00 pm.  This fee event will take place at the Wo Hing Museum on Front Street in Lahaina.  Enjoy exhibits, local produce and cultural activities.  Sample tasty Chinese teas and moon cakes!  More information on the event available here.

Go Pink Battle of the Badges Softball game will take place this Saturday September 17th starting at 6:00 pm.  This kick off event for Cancer Awareness will feature a Police versus Fire soft pitch softball game at Iron Maehara Stadium in Wailuku.  Cost is $5 general admission or free with a Go Pink 2016 shirt.  The Pacific Cancer Foundation has more information on this event and future events!
