The 6th Annual Hawaii Food and Wine Festival starts tomorrow Friday, October 14th and runs through October 30th.  The festival has events taking place on Maui, Oahu, and the Big Island.  Over 100 master chefs will be featured over the three island three weekend event.  This years Maui event kicks off with the 19th Annual Roy’s Golf Classic in Kaanapali. Saturday October 15th the Lahaina Hongwanji Mission Fall Bazaar will be happening from 8:00 am to 1:00pm.  Come enjoy entertainment, a silent auction, crafts, rummage sale, and more!  The bazaar will take place from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Hongwanji Mission in Lahaina.  The silent Auction will benefit the Napili Kai Foundation.  More information via the Hongwanji Mission website.

The Matinee showing of Boeing Boeing will be on Sunday October 16th starting at 3:00 pm. This Tony Award winner for Best Revival of a Play is being performed at the Iao Historic Theater.  Ticket pricing varies and are available for purchase online.  View more information for the Boeing Boeing performance. here.

This Weekend’s Events

Happening this weekend from Thursday October 6th through Sunday October 9th the 94th Annual Maui Fair! The Maui Fair funds many non-profit and community organizations.  Approximately 100,000 people are expected to attend. Some of the attractions you can expect this year include rides, chili cook off, baby of the year contest, livestock and student art exhibit, and of course the Maui Parade.  The Parade will kick off the fair on Thursday at 4:30 pm beginning at the UH Maui College Campus.  The Maui Fair website has all the information on this years event.

This Friday October 7th is Wailuku Town’s First Friday!  This free event will run from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm with Market Street closing at 5:30 pm.  Enjoy live music, food vendors, jewelry and fashion from local artisans.  Free parking available at Maui Medical Group parking lot.  For more information on this event including vendors and performers attending, visit Maui Fridays website here.

On Saturday October 8th, Montessori School of Maui is hosting its Taste Of Upcountry event from 6:00 pm to 10:00pm.  Amazing Maui chefs will be featured along with cocktails, wine, and both a live and silent auction.  All proceeds for this event will benefit the Montessori School of Maui. These funds will benefit students, teachers, help with maintenance, and tuition assistance for students.  Ticket pricing varies.  More information is available here.

Events This Weekend!

Friday night, September 30th is Art Night in Lahaina.  From 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm dozens of Art Galleries will be open to the public with free refreshments, gallery shows, and special artists in action!  Lahaina is known by many as the “Art Capitol of the Pacific”.  To view a map of participating galleries, stop by the Lahaina Visitors Center open daily from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

The 34th Annula Kula Festival will be this Saturday October 1st from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm at St. Johns Episcopal Church.  Entrance fee is only $1.00!  Fun for the entire family featuring food, games, crafts,  plus live music all day.  Proceeds from this event benefit multiple organizations.  For more information, visit the St. Johns website here.

Free admission on Sunday October 2nd at the 11th annual Ukulele Festival.  This event takes place at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center in Kahului from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm.  Participants are encouraged to bring a low back chair and/or blankets to sit on and enjoy the festivities!  Art displays, crafts, and plenty of tasty food will be available.  The Maui Arts & Cultural Center website has more information including a food and beverage menu.

Events This Weekend

Happening this Friday September 16th from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Queen Ka’ahumanu Center its  Kama’aina Night!  This is a free event that is suitable for the entire family.  Enjoy specials from local stores and restaurants.  Local Hawaiian musical talents will also be featured.  To find out more information for this event, and future events, view the Queen Ka’ahumanu Center website here.

The Chinese Moon Festival in Lahaina will take place September 16th at 1:00 pm through September 17th at 7:00 pm.  This fee event will take place at the Wo Hing Museum on Front Street in Lahaina.  Enjoy exhibits, local produce and cultural activities.  Sample tasty Chinese teas and moon cakes!  More information on the event available here.

Go Pink Battle of the Badges Softball game will take place this Saturday September 17th starting at 6:00 pm.  This kick off event for Cancer Awareness will feature a Police versus Fire soft pitch softball game at Iron Maehara Stadium in Wailuku.  Cost is $5 general admission or free with a Go Pink 2016 shirt.  The Pacific Cancer Foundation has more information on this event and future events!

Events Happening This Weekend

Wailuku Town’s First Friday is taking place this Friday September 2nd from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm.  Streets will close at 5:30 pm.  This free festival offers live music on two stages, food vendors, fashion, and a beer garden.  To view more information on this event including food vendors and performances, visit the Maui Fridays website here.

On Saturday September 3rd from 7:00 am to 1:00 pm, come shopping at the Maui Swap Meet!  Located at the University of Hawaii-Maui College, this free event is a great place to find home made and unique items.  Entry fee is only .50 cents!  Information including how to become a vendor is available here.

Sunday September 4th at the Castle Theater starting at 7:30, Pink Martini Orchestra featuring China Forbes will be performing.  Classical, jazz, and pop musical inspiration styles will be enjoyed!  Pink Martini has toured the world for over 20 years!  Ticket pricing varies, and pre-show dinner options are available.  View more information via the Maui Arts website.
