Events This Weekend

This Friday is the Makawao Town Party.  Running from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm come out to enjoy music, food, and even a fashion show at 7:00 pm.  Entertainment for Keiki includes face painting, henna tattoos, mechanical pony rides, and balloon animals.  There is something for everyone at the Town Parties hosted on Friday’s throughout Maui.  For the most up to date information, visit the Makawao Maui Fridays page here.

Also on Friday July 17th at 7:30 a Starry Night Cinema presents Frozen at the A&B Amphitheater.  Free admission!  All you need is blankets and beach chairs!  No outside food or drinks will be allowed, but there will be a pre-movie dinner menu.  The Maui Arts website has more information on the movie event.

Saturday’s monthly beach cleanup will be held from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm at Kanaha Beach Park.  All cleanup supplies will be provided.  Just bring your lunch and reusable water bottle.

Sunday the Stand Up Paddle Race starts at 2:30 pm in Kamalo, Molokai.  The 8.5 mile course end at the Hotel Molokai.  This event is good for paddlers of all levels.  Registration is $75.00 and includes membership to SUPAM.  Those racers wishing to stay on Molokai special rates are available.  Visit the Sup Molokai events section here for more information.

Your Weekly Events Update

This Friday at the Azeka Shopping Center is the Kihei Fourth Friday Town Party!  This free event runs from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm.  Make sure to bring your appetite because the food choices are going to be delicious!  Donations of non perishable food items greatly appreciated for the Maui Food Bank.  Lots of vendors, food, local entertainment, and the popular keiki zone will make this Friday a fun family event.  Mark your calendars for Kihei Fridays this week!

On Saturday June 27th and June 28th, Lahaina Arts Society Art Fair from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm in Banyan Tree Park.  Some of the most talented local artists will be displaying their work.  Ceramics, handmade jewelry, watercolors, are just a few of the types of art you may expect to be displayed.  This event is a great way to support your community.  Check out the Lahaina Arts Society page here for information on events and local artists.

24th Annual Ki Ho’Alu Festival on June 28th at 1:00 pm at the A&B Amphitheater will showcase key guitar musicians.  This all day outdoor event is sponsored by The Maui News.  Bring your own blankets and chairs to enjoy the various musicians on the lawn.  Admission is free, and the gates will open at 12:30.  For a list of the line up, view the Maui Arts page here.

Shops At Wailea Parking Update

The South entrance is scheduled to reopen today Wednesday, April 8th after closing on April 2nd.  The North entrance will be exit only.  This is the roadway that leads to the Marriot.

The pre-paid parking system that has been proposed would be totally automated. Proposed parking fees are currently at:

  • Employees will pay $1.50 per exit
  • Tenants will pay $.50 per validation card
  • Minimum purchase amounts may vary per tenant.  Tenants do no have to participate.
  • Shoppers will be given a 30 minute grace period
  • Fee is $3 per half hour or $42 per day
  • The validation kiosks will be placed by the accesses from the Shops to the parking lot

3rd Annual Classic Car Show

Lahaina 3rd Annual Classic Car Show

 

The 3rd Annual Classic Car Show is being held in Lahaina this Friday April 10th.  Approximately 65 classic cars will begin their parade down front street starting at 5:30 pm.  Campbell Park and Front Street will be closed to traffic.

Prizes including trophies and Cool Cat Cafe gift certificates will be awarded in three different categories, and a $500 cash prize will go to the “Best in Show” car.  Various performances will be happening throughout the night including Darren Lee from Maui Theater, the Benny Uyetake Band, and a silent auction in Campbell Park.

Friday night is also Art Night in Lahaina.  Shop the art galleries and meet some of the artists.  Art Maps are available for pick up at the Lahaina Courthouse in Banyan Tree Park.
