Weekend Events

Starting this Friday November 13th and also Saturday November 14th from 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Wo Hing Museum, Lahaina will be paying tribute to Dr. Sun Yat-Sen.  Dr. Sun Yat-Sen is known as the The Father of Modern China.  This free event will celebrate with martial arts demonstrations, traditional fan dancing, and lion dancing.  Traditional foods and tea will be available.  The Lahaina Restoration Foundation has more information here.

Saturday November 14th the 9th Annual Hui No’eau Wailea Food & Wine Celebration will take place at the Hotel Wailea from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm.  This fundraising event supports the Hui’s community arts education.  Ticket prices vary from $150.00 for a standard ticket to $275.00 for a VIP ticket.  A portion of your ticket is tax deductible.  The Hui No’eau Wailea Food & Wine Celebration website has more information on the event including what food will be served and the silent auction items.

5th annual “Zip for the Trees” event at Skyline Eco-Adventures is this Sunday Noveber 15th from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm.  This event supports Maui Children’s charities as well as the reforestation on Skylines Haleakala.  Cost is $40.00 and includes ziplining, musical entertainment, and food for purchase.  This event raised more then $7500.00 last year.  Skyline Eco-Adventures Zip For The Trees website has information on this fundraiser here.

Maui’s Weekend Events

Kick your Halloween weekend off with some kid friendly activities at Whole Foods Market on Friday October 30th.  Come join in the pumpkin carving festivities and cast your vote for your favorite.  Kid’s Club will be decorating mini pumpkins from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm.  This is a free event.

Halloween Night in Lahaina is probably one of the most anticipated nights of the year.  Front Street closes to traffic and turns into a Halloween Party with music, activities, ghosts and more!  The Keiki Halloween Costume Parade begins at 4:30 pm.  The adult costume contest promises great prizes! Lahaina Town Halloween t-shirts will be available for purchase.  More information on the Visit Lahaina website here.

Sunday November 1st starts the ever popular Restaurant Week Wailea.  This event takes place at 20 different restaurants throughout Wailea.  Each restaurant makes a contribution to the Maui Food Bank.  Maui Food Bank receives thousands of dollars each year from this event. The Wailea Resort Association has a list of the various restaurants participating.  No pre-purchase is necessary.  Bon Appetit!

Coming Up This Weekend

Friday night August 14th is Art Night in Lahaina!  From 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm come enjoy refreshments, see artists in action, and view special gallery showings.  Available in the Lahaina Visitor Center is a map of all the participating galleries.  This is a free event open to the public!

August 15th, Saturday, a benefit diner and performance  by John Crice will take pace at Lumeria Maui in upcountry Makawao.  This event will benefit Whale Trust Maui.  You can learn more about the Whale Trust Maui Organization here.  This event will have dinner, a silent auction and live music featuring Grammy Award winner John Cruz!  Information on the event including purchasing tickets can be found here.

On Sunday August 16th from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm the Hawaii Animal Rescue Foundation will have pet adoptions at Whole Foods in Kahului Maui.  All these animals are in need of a good home.  Come and rescue your next family pet!
