Activities This Weekend

Celebrate Mother’s Day Weekend with events happening at the Queen Kaahumanu Center.  Friday May 6th a free concert opening with Tflatz & The Highlights and headliner Princess IIona starting at 6:30 pm.  Princess IIona is best known for her hit Island Boy.  Come Friday and receive coupons for Saturday and Sunday.  More information available at the Queen Kaahumanu Center website here.

Valley Isle Road Runners, the non-profit organization, will be having its 37th annual Women’s 5K Run “Na Holo Wahine” and 1 Mile Walk.  All proceeds to benefit Hale Kau Kau.  Race goers can sign up as individuals or as a mother-daughter team.  Race will begin at 8:00 am at Keopuolani Park in Wailuku.  View the Valley Isle Road Runners website for registration information.

Also on Saturday May 7th from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm the Seabury Hall Craft Fair will be taking place.  This is one of Upcountry’s most popular spring events!  All proceeds go to the Financial Aid Program at Seabury Hall   Food, live entertainment, silent auction and activities will be featured.  $5 admission, children under 12 are free!  Seabury Hall is located in Makawao at 480 Olinda Road.  More information available here.

Coming Up This Weekend

This Friday, February 19th,  is the Makawao Friday Town Party.  Makawao merchants get together and provide a great outdoor area to mingle and enjoy festivities.  This event runs from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm.  Enjoy music, dancing, food, and shopping!

On Saturday February 20th, JUMPSmartMaui will be celebrating their third anniversary at the Queen Ka’ahumanu Center from 10:30 am to 1:00 pm.  JUMPSmartMaui is a project between Japan, Hawaii, and Maui incorporating renewable energy for a cleaner future for Maui.  This project is in need of 300 volunteers for their next phase.  Admission is free.  Sign up to test drive a Nissan Leaf,  plus giveaways and refreshments will be available.  For more information, visit the JumpSmartMaui page here.

Maui Nui Farmers Market in Kula is an ongoing event every Thursday-Sunday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.  The 40 acre farm is famous for it’s delicious produce.  Some of the crops grown here include lettuce, zucchini, avocados among many others.  Flowers are also available including gardenias , protea, and tuberroses.  To learn more about Maui Nua Farm via their website.

Coming Up This Weekend

On Friday November 6th from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm the Haliimaile Farmers Market will take place at the Haliimaile Town Center.  Local fresh fruits and vegetables along with arts and crafts are available for purchase.  Non-profit and community organizations are welcome at no charge to host a booth.  This event occurs every other Friday.

This Saturday November 7th from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm the 2nd annual Made In Maui Festival will take place.  This event features over 140 vendors of made in Hawaii products.  Everything from food and produce to jewelry and collectibles will be available.  Can’t wait for the main event on Saturday?  500 tickets available for a special preview shopping event on Friday November 6th from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm.  For more information including how to buy tickets to the Friday pre-shopping event, visit the Made In Maui County Festival webpage.

On Sunday November 8th from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm, the 4th annual Maui Special Rodeo will be held at Piiholo Ranch in Makawao.  The rodeo is dedicated to children with special needs.  The children will be able to ride horses, play games, face painting, and go on a scavenger hunt.  Thanks to support from the Maui community, children and their families participating are able to do so at no cost.  Contributions and volunteers are welcome!  The Piiholo Ranch website has more information on this event.

Coming Up This Weekend

Friday night August 14th is Art Night in Lahaina!  From 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm come enjoy refreshments, see artists in action, and view special gallery showings.  Available in the Lahaina Visitor Center is a map of all the participating galleries.  This is a free event open to the public!

August 15th, Saturday, a benefit diner and performance  by John Crice will take pace at Lumeria Maui in upcountry Makawao.  This event will benefit Whale Trust Maui.  You can learn more about the Whale Trust Maui Organization here.  This event will have dinner, a silent auction and live music featuring Grammy Award winner John Cruz!  Information on the event including purchasing tickets can be found here.

On Sunday August 16th from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm the Hawaii Animal Rescue Foundation will have pet adoptions at Whole Foods in Kahului Maui.  All these animals are in need of a good home.  Come and rescue your next family pet!

Events This Weekend

This Friday is the Makawao Town Party.  Running from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm come out to enjoy music, food, and even a fashion show at 7:00 pm.  Entertainment for Keiki includes face painting, henna tattoos, mechanical pony rides, and balloon animals.  There is something for everyone at the Town Parties hosted on Friday’s throughout Maui.  For the most up to date information, visit the Makawao Maui Fridays page here.

Also on Friday July 17th at 7:30 a Starry Night Cinema presents Frozen at the A&B Amphitheater.  Free admission!  All you need is blankets and beach chairs!  No outside food or drinks will be allowed, but there will be a pre-movie dinner menu.  The Maui Arts website has more information on the movie event.

Saturday’s monthly beach cleanup will be held from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm at Kanaha Beach Park.  All cleanup supplies will be provided.  Just bring your lunch and reusable water bottle.

Sunday the Stand Up Paddle Race starts at 2:30 pm in Kamalo, Molokai.  The 8.5 mile course end at the Hotel Molokai.  This event is good for paddlers of all levels.  Registration is $75.00 and includes membership to SUPAM.  Those racers wishing to stay on Molokai special rates are available.  Visit the Sup Molokai events section here for more information.
