Coming Up This Weekend

This Friday, February 19th,  is the Makawao Friday Town Party.  Makawao merchants get together and provide a great outdoor area to mingle and enjoy festivities.  This event runs from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm.  Enjoy music, dancing, food, and shopping!

On Saturday February 20th, JUMPSmartMaui will be celebrating their third anniversary at the Queen Ka’ahumanu Center from 10:30 am to 1:00 pm.  JUMPSmartMaui is a project between Japan, Hawaii, and Maui incorporating renewable energy for a cleaner future for Maui.  This project is in need of 300 volunteers for their next phase.  Admission is free.  Sign up to test drive a Nissan Leaf,  plus giveaways and refreshments will be available.  For more information, visit the JumpSmartMaui page here.

Maui Nui Farmers Market in Kula is an ongoing event every Thursday-Sunday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.  The 40 acre farm is famous for it’s delicious produce.  Some of the crops grown here include lettuce, zucchini, avocados among many others.  Flowers are also available including gardenias , protea, and tuberroses.  To learn more about Maui Nua Farm via their website.

What’s Happening This Weekend!

It’s First Friday in Wailuku on February 5th from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm.  Market Street closure will begin at 5:30 pm. Come and enjoy food, live entertainment, specials at restaurants, and crafts from local artists.  Free parking is available at Maui Medical Group parking lot.  For more information on their event, please visit the Wailuku First Fridays website here.

Happening both on Friday February 5th and Saturday February 6th at the Grand Wailea, the Celebrity Chef Tour benefitting James Beard Foundation.  Friday features a cocktail reception from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.  Saturday will be the Celebrity Chef Dinner from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm.  Tickets available for each individual event, or you may purchase a weekend pass for both nights.  The Grand Wailea website has more information here.

Watch The Super Bowl on Sunday February 7th at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center.  Admission is free!  The gates will open at 12:00 pm.  Food trucks will be on site to sell food before and during the game including pulled pork sliders, hot dogs, taquitos and nachos among other things.  Beverages available to purchase in the courtyard.  Maui Arts website has a full list of food that will be available as well as more information.

This Weekends Events

Friday January 29th, kick off your weekend at Mulligan’s On The Blue where Soul Kitchen will be performing from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.  Dinner reservations are highly recommended to those wishing for good seats.  There will be a $10.00 cover charge at the door.

Saturday and Sunday, January 30th and 31st, the Tennis Championships of Maui a USTA Pro Circuit Event, will take place at the Royal Lahaina Tennis Club.  This is the only professional tennis tournament in Hawaii.  For more information regarding schedule, players, and ticket purchase, visit the Tennis Championships of Maui here.

Activities For Your Weekend

This weekend running from Friday January 22nd to Sunday January 24th is the 6th Annual Maui Fringe Theater Festival.  A variety of shows will be happening all weekend including a performance by the Seabury Hall Dance Ensemble on Saturday.  All performances at the Historic Iao Theater.  More information on the different show performances, times, and ticket sales available here.

Saturday January 23rd at the Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa, Jeff Bridges will perform live in concert “The Dude” with a special appearance by guests Brian Evens and musician Dayle Tejada.  Various ticket options available including VIP with a meet and greet.  Honolulu Box Office website has information for purchasing tickets.

Sport Master Tennis Champions of Maui starts Saturday January 23rd and runs through January 31st.  This event will take place in Kaanapali, Maui at the Royal Lahaina Tennis Ranch & Resort.  This event will showcase some of the finest tennis players in the world both Men and Women.  Children 10 and under are admitted free.  Pricing varies by day and event.  Visit the Tennis Championships of Maui website here for more information.

Your Weekend Activities

On Friday December 11th from 5:30 pm to 9:30 pm Sugar Beach Events presents Eric Gilliom in Tiki Holiday.  This holiday musical features a tropical twist!  Tickets available for purchase may include the buffet dinner, or just come for the show.  The show will incorporate some of your  holiday favorites as well as some festive Tiki Time tunes.  This event is a fun event suitable for the entire family.  Information for ticket purchase can be found on the Swinging Tiki Time website.

Komoni Dance Works will be hosting their second annual dance off, The Mix 2015, on Sunday December 13th from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm.  Students, instructors, and crew will show off their talented dance moves in a variety of dance styles.  Ticket prices vary and are available to purchase via the Maui Arts and Cultural Center website.  The event will be held in the McCoy Studio Theater.
