Bob and Donna Hansen were one of four groups of recipients of the 2017 Maui Seasons for Peace Award for their Community contributions to those in need. The other awardees were Stacy Moniz, Uncle George Kahumoko Jr., and Elaine Arakaki Reneau.
Maui County is encouraging applicants interested in employment to apply now. The three public hospitals in Maui County do not want the transition to Kaiser to hold those back whom may be searching for employment. The transition to Kaiser will take place on July 1.
Over 93% of the employees at the three public hospitals have accepted jobs at Kaiser. Still in need are nurses, nurse aides, lab, physical and occupational therapists, and clerical positions. Those accepting employment now before the transition will begin accruing benefits.

Alexander & Baldwin’s Kamalani project has begun in Kihei! The affordable housing units are expected to be completed this summer! Phase 1 will include 5 buildings and 35 units. The master planned community will eventually have 630 units. Prices are expected to begin in the mid $300,000 range. All grading, roadway, curbs, parking lot, and sidewalk work for phase 1 has already been completed.
