More Hurricane Lane Updates

We wanted to keep you up to date and let you know that Maui is experiencing some rain.  Hana is getting the brunt of rain at this time.  As Hurricane Lane moves slowly across the ocean it has been weakening.  We do expect some flooding but all in all so far, so good.  Keep checking www.MauiRealEstate.net and click on beachcam for a live view of Charley Young Beach.

Hurricane Lane Update

Closures for Wednesday due to Hurricane Lane include all public schools, Haleakala National Park, state and county parks and trails, University of Hawaii Maui College, and most county offices and services.

After school practices and sporting events have been cancelled as well starting today and throughout the weekend. Normal activity should hopefully resume on Monday. County office closures effected by Hurricane Lane include DMV, Real Property Tax Offices, and senior services. These too should hopefully reopen and resume normal activity Monday. Last trash pick up will be today until further notice.

Residents and visitors should not plan to travel at this time. Please go to www.mauicounty.gov  for storm updates and information.

Honolulu Advances At The Little League World Series

Congratulations to the Honolulu Little League boys baseball team for their 8-3 victory over Michigan to advance at the Little League World Series.

Michigan had taken a 1-0 lead in the first inning. After a 6 run inning in the second, Honolulu never looked back. Michigan had runners in scoring position, but were unable to capitalize after Honolulu changed pitchers.

With this win the team advances to the next round. They battle against New York on Wednesday. Congratulations again on your advancement and best of luck for the remainder of the tournament!

Adventuring in Hana

Known as one of the most beautiful drive, Hana Highway has 617 curves and 56 single lane bridges. This isn’t a road to be rushed.  Take your time and allow yourself to enjoy the gorgeous surroundings.

Make sure to pack snacks, sunscreen, and plenty of water. Stop at a local stand along the route and enjoy some fresh made banana bread. It will be like none other you’ve ever tasted!

To finish off your Hana Adventure, make sure you stop off in Paia. The town has some unique jewelry, art, and local boutiques. Great restaurants can also be found up and down the local strip!
