Hawaii beat South Korea 3-0 to win its first Little League World Series in 10 years. Up until the championship game, South Korea had not given up a home run the entire tournament. That all changed when Mana Lau Kong went yard and hammered the first pitch of the game deep dead center. It would have been all Hawaii needed but they added two more runs for good measure.
Pitcher Ka’olu Holt pitched a two hitter complete game for the win. A more aggressive approach on base running led to the second and third runs of the game. Team Manager Gerald Oda credits the strength of this squad is the way they come together and play as a team.
Congratulations to all the team members, coaches, and families for winning the championship!
