It was Surf’s Up yesterday at Keawakapu Beach in Wailea.  Rarely do you see waves surfable in Wailea and most South Maui shores!

New Construction Kihei Development!

Alexander & Baldwin’s Kamalani project has begun in Kihei! The affordable housing units are expected to be completed this summer!  Phase 1 will include 5 buildings and 35 units.  The master planned community will eventually have 630 units. Prices are expected to begin in the mid $300,000 range. All grading, roadway, curbs, parking lot, and sidewalk work for phase 1 has already been completed.

Getting Fit!

On April 22 join the community in celebrating fitness hosted by the West Maui Greenway Alliance and the Maui Bicycling League for a free Earth Day kick off event. Several workshops will be participating with free classes offered throughout the community. Participants include Sookie Kunst of Good Karma Yoga, Love the West Maui Greenway Day will off activities such as hula hooping and hip ho dance.

Events This Weekend

On Friday, March 24th, at the A & B Amphitheater Bonnie Raitt will be performing.  Gates will open at 5:00 pm with the show scheduled to begin at 7:00 pm.  Her latest album Dig In Deep is her 20th  successful album.  Named by Rolling Stone magazine as one of the greatest singers of all time, Raitt has 10 Grammy awards to help prove it!  Special guests California Honeydrops will be opening the show.  Ticket pricing varies. From 9:00 am to 6:00 pm on Saturday, March 25th, Come support the language immersion preschool in Wailuku at the Ho’omau 2017.  This cultural music event will benefit Punana Leo o Maui. Other immersion programs throughout the island will also benefit. Some of the best musicians in Hawaii will be performing. Live auction, food, crafts, children activities and various demonstrations will be taking place throughout the day. The Maui Nui Botanical Gardens website has more information on this event.

Also on Saturday between 7:00 am and 1:00 pm the Hale Makua Kahului Car Wash Fundraiser will be taking place at 472 Maulana St. Kahului.  Proceeds benefit the 2017 Visitor Industry Charity Walk.  $10.00 per vehicle for a car wash.
