2014 is the year of the Horse.  Strap in for a wild ride as the Horse’s yang energy brings a burst of excitement, spontaneous surprise, and unexpected life-changeing events!

There are activities available on Maui to help you celebrate.  The Maui Mall will be hosting it’s 15th annual festival on February 1 from 9:00am to 2:00pm.  Food, entertainment and crafts will be on hand.  You can read more about the event here.

On February 7th from 5:30pm to 7:30pm Lahaina celebrates the new year with lion dances on Front Street.  Bring the family and enjoy food, art activities, and feeding the dragon!  You can view more regarding this event here.

Rock & Brews Opening in Pa’ia

Rockers Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley hosted a private party with 200 guests at their new Rock & Brews restaurant in Pa’ia on Maui.  The restaurant is scheduled to open to the public on February 15.  Patrons will be able to enjoy American cuisine, local favorites, and Pa’ia largest selection of craft beer.  You can read this article via yahoo finance here.

Land Hike Series

Hawaiian Islands Land Trust has introduced Talk Story on the Land Hike Series.  Educational hikes are free to the public.  Moonlight hikes are also available with the request of a $25 donation.  Hilt has a list of hikes available and who to contact to rsvp.  A fun and educational way to get out and explore!

2014 Tax Season Information

The Internal Revenue Service will commence the 2014 filing season on January 31.  The date change will enable the federal government to test systems after the 16 day shutdown in October.  April 15th is still the deadline. to file.  You can find more valuable tax information here.  Thank you to Patrick Kilbride for the informative flyer.

Daily Service From LA And Maui Announced

Traveling to Maui from Los Angeles just got a little bit easier.  Hawaiian Airlines has announced it will offer non-stop flights between the two destinations starting this summer.  Maui’s popularity as a travel destination continues to grow keeping the island on top of numerous lists.  The airline will use a 330-200 Airbus that holds up to 294 passengers.  You can view the article via Maui Now here.
