Adventuring in Hana

Known as one of the most beautiful drive, Hana Highway has 617 curves and 56 single lane bridges. This isn’t a road to be rushed.  Take your time and allow yourself to enjoy the gorgeous surroundings.

Make sure to pack snacks, sunscreen, and plenty of water. Stop at a local stand along the route and enjoy some fresh made banana bread. It will be like none other you’ve ever tasted!

To finish off your Hana Adventure, make sure you stop off in Paia. The town has some unique jewelry, art, and local boutiques. Great restaurants can also be found up and down the local strip!

Makawao Town Party

Makawao Town Party is tomorrow, Friday August 17th! This free event will take place from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm along Baldwin Ave.

This is a great opportunity to check out the local merchants and services available in Makawao. The theme for this Friday is Dance All Night. There will be food, drinks, an art show, shopping, live music, and a keiki zone with a magic show!

Come out and end the work week with some fun, good food, and dancing!

North Of Nightfall Premiere

Tomorrow Thursday August 2nd at the Castle Theatre starting at 7:30 pm will be the premiere of North of Nightfall. Take a journey high into the Arctic Circle and follow along as four men mountain bike and explore the unknown land that flourishes during the summer after remaining hidden underneath from nine months of winter.

Maui Senior Softball Tournament

Starting today Monday, July 30th and concluding Thursday, August 2nd is the 43rd Annual Hawaii State Senior Softball Tournament. Fields in use for the tournament include War Memorial Complex, Keopuolani Park, and Papohaku Park.

Divisions run from Division “A” to Division “F”. You can view the schedule which includes fields, divisions, and game times via the Maui Senior Softball Website here. Play Ball!

Brackets Up For Maui Jim Maui Invitational!

Brackets were revealed yesterday for the November 19th through November 21st 35th annual Maui Jim Maui Invitational tournament. Games are played at the Lahaina Civic Center. Many coaches feel this tournament sets the tone for the season. All games are expected to be televised on various ESPN networks.

This years teams are considered possibly the hardest competition yet. They include Arizona, Auburn, Duke, Gonzaga, Illinois, Iowa State, San Diego State, and Xavier. Those teams that have participated in past Maui Jim Invitationals have gone on to win 67 of the 78 NCAA Division 1 Basketball Championships.
