Johnson Controls is the company that will be heading up the project that is expected to eventually save the county $73 million dollars in energy and water costs.
The project would take place over 20 years in three different phases. Phase 1 will include such energy saving projects such as high-efficiency transformers, improvements to air infiltration and ventilation, and plug load controllers. 141 locations throughout the country including office buildings, police and fire will be recipients.
Learn more about the project here via the Maui News.
Week of October 16, 2022:
In an effort for zero emissions in 2045, Maui will be receiving 4 new charging stations hopefully in the next 5 years.
Wailuku and Hana will be receiving the next two stations. 11 stations will be installed over Hawaii. A full charge at one station can be achieved in 20 minutes. Four cars can charge at the same time.
