Energy Cost Savings Program Announced

Johnson Controls is the company that will be heading up the project that is expected to eventually save the county $73 million dollars in energy and water costs.

The project would take place over 20 years in three different phases. Phase 1 will include such energy saving projects such as high-efficiency transformers, improvements to air infiltration and ventilation, and plug load controllers. 141 locations throughout the country including office buildings, police and fire will be recipients.

New Charging Stations Coming To Maui

In an effort for zero emissions in 2045, Maui will be receiving 4 new charging stations hopefully in the next 5 years.

Wailuku and Hana will be receiving the next two stations. 11 stations will be installed over Hawaii. A full charge at one station can be achieved in 20 minutes. Four cars can charge at the same time.

Gather Restaurant Group Acquires Popular Restaurants

Gather Restaurant Group is acquiring two island favorite restaurants. Gannon’s, A Pacific View Restaurant and Hali’imaile General Store. Both are owned by Beverly Gannon. Beverly plans to stay on staff as a culinary consultant.

Ukulele Festival

The 15th Annual Maui Ukulele Festival will be held on October 2nd. This is a free event from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center A&B Amphitheater. If you wish to participate in a free ukulele workshop, one will be held on October 1st at 11:00 am in MACC Morgado Hall.

Food and beverages will be available to purchase at the event. Low back chairs and blankets welcome!
