On Friday August 12th, Reggae Summersplash will be happening at the Hard Rock Cafe in Lahaina from 9:00 pm to 2:00 am. The 9th Annual Seed to Cup Coffee Festival will be on Saturday August 13th. This free event will run from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm at the Maui Tropical Plantation in Wailuku. Coffee Brewing and Coffee Roasting demonstrations will be happening throughout the day. Enjoy free tasting of Maui’s award-winning coffee, coffee beer by Kohola Brewery, coffee braised beef tacos, as well as some other tasty coffee sampling. Sunday starting at 7:30 pm on August 14th is the Hawaii International Music Festival. The finest classical music will be featured with Hawaiian culture. Chinese New Year 2016 is the Year Of The Monkey. Chinese New Year is celebrated with friends and family gathering together to enjoy a feast. Fireworks are a normal part of the celebration and decorations are predominantly done in red. The monkey is the 9th sign in the 12 sign zodiac cycle. The next time for this zodiac sign will not be until 2028.
A free all day (10:00 am to 7:00 pm) celebration will be held on Friday February 12th in Lahaina at the Wo Hing Museum on Front St. Ring in the Year Of The Monkey with kids crafts, fireworks, music, and a traditional lion dance.

Saturday and Sunday, January 30th and 31st, the Tennis Championships of Maui a USTA Pro Circuit Event, will take place at the Royal Lahaina Tennis Club. Maui’s 14th Annual Art of Aloha in Lahaina is this Sunday January 31st from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Lahaina Galleries on Front Street. Friday December 18th is Makawao Third Friday Town Party. This is a great opportunity to come out and meet local merchants and explore the town of Makawao. The theme for this Friday will be It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas. Music will be playing on the main stage, and Christmas Caroling will take place from 7:30 pm to 8:00 pm. Go Green recycle event takes place every third Saturday of the month til June 2016. This Saturday, come recycle at no charge! From 8:00 am to 12:00 pm at Lahaina Cannery Mall, recycle bins will be set up for electronics, dvd’s, batteries, appliance, cell phones, computers and more. No money will be paid out for items. Volunteers are appreciated for this event.
Hawaii Ballroom Dance Association will be hosting a Christmas Ball this Saturday December 19 from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm. Ticket pricing will go up starting on Thursday. Starting this Friday November 13th and also Saturday November 14th from 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Wo Hing Museum, Lahaina will be paying tribute to Dr. Sun Yat-Sen. Dr. Sun Yat-Sen is known as the The Father of Modern China. This free event will celebrate with martial arts demonstrations, traditional fan dancing, and lion dancing. Saturday November 14th the 9th Annual Hui No’eau Wailea Food & Wine Celebration will take place at the Hotel Wailea from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm. This fundraising event supports the Hui’s community arts education. Ticket prices vary from $150.00 for a standard ticket to $275.00 for a VIP ticket. A portion of your ticket is tax deductible. 5th annual “Zip for the Trees” event at Skyline Eco-Adventures is this Sunday Noveber 15th from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm. This event supports Maui Children’s charities as well as the reforestation on Skylines Haleakala. Cost is $40.00 and includes ziplining, musical entertainment, and food for purchase.
