Maui Tastemakers Series

Japengo restaurant at the Hyatt Regency Maui Resort will be kicking off the Tastemakers series with a five-course meal on March 24th. The Aipono dinner will be paired with sake from various regions of Japan.

The dinner will support the University of Hawaii Maui Culinary Arts Program. Part of the ticket purchase will give students the chance to watch chefs in action in the kitchen. Ticket purchase price is $125.00.

Other Tastemaker dates include Stag’s Leap Cellars on June 9th, Maui Brewing Co. on September 8th, and Hali’imaile Distillery on December 8th.  A delicious way to support a great program!

Humpback Migration Celebration

In Lahaina this weekend both Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm the Whale and Ocean Arts Festival will take place at Banyan Tree. Lots of activities for the entire family including art contest and keiki activities, lei making, and whale research groups on hand offering free education. Marine themed art will be available at the festival for purchase.

This free event will also include live entertainment! Great way to welcome the Whales and enjoy local culture!

Let’s Bowl!

Outlets of Maui on Front Street has a new tenant. The first bowling alley in more than 50 years is scheduled to open tomorrow March 1st called Island Bowling. They have taken over the old Hard Rock Cafe building. Opening weekend is already sold out, but be sure to call to reserve your lane ahead of time.

The bowling ally will not be the only thing occupying the 7,000 square foot building. There will also be a video gaming area with three monitors and a variety of games. Fun for the entire family!

Maui’s First Trampoline Park

Ultimate Air Trampoline Park opened last week and its a hit! The new park opened in Wailuku at the Maui Lani Village Center. Hours of operation are 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm Sunday through Thursday. Fridays the park is open from 1:00 pm to 10:00 pm. Saturday hours are 10:00 am to 10:00 pm.

14,000 square feet of the 23,000 square foot facility is all trampolines. Other play areas include dodgeball courts, foam pits, and basketball. Plans include adding exercise classes and extending hours during school holidays. Lots of fun for families and kids of all ages!

Future Dome Theatre

New Dome Theatre at the Maui Ocean Center broke ground on Wednesday. The future dome theatre will feature 139 seats, 360 degree 3-D laser images of ocean life and night stars. Fantastic way to teach through entertainment!
