Maui Film Studios LLC has begun outfitting a 21,000 warehouse building located at the Maui Lani Village Center. The facility will have office space, a parking lot, space for trailers and a mill shop. The hope is for the studio to be up and running with a film or TV production shooting by late summer. Whale and Ocean Arts Festival
Come celebrate the migration of the Pacific Humpback whales this weekend. The event is being held this Saturday and Sunday at Banyan Tree Park from 9 am to 5 pm. A great event for the entire family. There will be live music, crafts, and local artists. Don’t forget to bring your non-perishable food donations for the Maui Food Bank. Spending Is On The Up!
After hitting a low in 2009, visitor spending on Maui has risen tremendously. In 2012 spending increased 18.8% to $3.6 billion. In just December alone, Maui visitors spent $357.8 million. Arrivals via air were up as well for 2012 increasing 5.9%. With all these visitors to our island, tourism based jobs rose 34,000 in 2012. You can read more via mauinow.com here. Maui Stop Added To Princess Cruise Route
New for 2014 Princsss Cruise line will be adding a stop in Maui to it’s route. The 680 passenger Pacific Princess will make the stop on it’s way from Tahiti. Maui Ukulele Festival Today Sunday October 14th
Open today from 1 pm to 6 pm is the Maui Ukulele Festival. Located at the Pavilion Amphitheater enjoy an afternoon of island music. You can also purchase island foods and crafts at the event.
