Weekly Events

The 34th annual Kapalua Wine and Food Festival kicks off this Thursday June 11th at the Ritz Carlton.  The invitation only Master Class Introduction to Wine Tasting.  This class is for industry professional looking to unlock clues in wine tasting flavors and aromas.  Starting Friday June 12th events for those with tickets and 4 day passes begin.  All events showcase various wines.  The Grand Tasting Kapalua Style at the Montage on Friday from 6:00 pm- 9:00 pm will showcase premium wines paired with delicious cuisine. The event concludes with the Seafood Festival at the Ritz-Carlton on Sunday from 6:00 pm-9:00 pm.  14 of Maui’s finest restaurants will compete for the “Best of the Fest” award.  All events are 21 years and over.  To get more information on the festival including the schedule of events, visit their website here.

June 11th and 12th is the Maui Upcountry Ag and Farm Fair at the Oskie Rice Field and Arena.  Hours for both Saturday an Sunday are 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.  The 4-H auction will be presented by the children that have raised them throughout the year.  Lots of games and activities just for kids under the Keiki Boot Tent.  Entertainment and good eating will be had by all throughout the weekend!  Check their Facebook page here for updates on the event.

HouseMart Ben Franklin Crafts summer keiki Crafts Class starts Monday June 15th through Friday June 19th at HouseMart in its Queen Kaahumanu Center store.  For children 8-10 years class will be held from 10 am to 12 noon.  For ages 11 and older, class will be held from 1 pm to 3 pm.  Cost is $20 per day or $60 for all 5 days.  Children will about different techniques, and have a different theme each day.   Space is limited and pre-registration is recommended.  Visit their website here for the class brochure and registration form.

Halloween Activities on Maui

Halloween on Maui is one of the best events to be on Island for. Get ready for Halloween in Lahaina Friday October 31! Lots of fun with plenty of activities for everyone to enjoy.

Annual Keiki Halloween Costume Parade starts at 4:30 pm on Front Street. All Maui keiki are invited to participate. Each participant will receive a ribbon and bag of goodies! The costume contest will be held at Banyan Tree Park from 7:00 pm-9:00 pm. Sign up to join in the costume contest at Pioneer Inn retail store beginning at 6:00 pm. Dance and enjoy the music during the costume contest from 6:30 pm-9:30 pm. Park will close at 10:00 pm.

Beginning at 6:00 pm live entertainment in Campbell Park with The Haiku Hillbilly’s. Keiki activities including face painting and various photo opportunities. Make sure to get your official Halloween In Lahaina 2014 t-Shirt. Campbell Park will close at 10:00 pm.

Street closures will be enforced from Baker Street to Prison Street and on Front Street from 3:30 to midnight. No parking will be allowed from 3:30 to midnight. There will be shuttle transportation available from War Memorial Parking Lot and Kihei Aquatic Center Parking Lot. Tickets for the shuttle will be on sale starting October 20th for $5.00 each way cash only.   Shuttles will be first come first serve. For some, celebrating Halloween on one night just isn’t enough! For the month of October, Maui Paintball offers Haunted Hayrides on Friday and Saturday nights from 6:00 pm to 11:00 pm. Ride the Hayride and shoot Zombies, Ghouls, and Goblins! If you’re up for a monster challenge, try the Zombie Run. The Zombie Run is a half-mile obstacle course packed with Monsters! Space is limited so be sure to pre-register!

Some would rather have a good laugh then a good fright this Halloween.  Never fear, Maui Comedy Festival is here! Tickets are on sale for the festival that runs from October 30th to November 2nd.  Events are scheduled at different locations so be sure to check the Maui Comedy Festival website here for lineup, ticket information, and venue locations!

Summer Camps

Summer is rapidly approaching!  It’s a great time to explore classes for Keiki on Maui.  One great option for the theatre lover is Maui Academy of Performing Arts. MAPA has camps offered in Dance for ages 3-10.  These camps are geared toward teamwork and having fun!  Space is limited, and registration has begun as of April 7.

MAPA also offers Musical Theatre Camp with auditions for different productions. All the information for camps and registration can be found on the MAPA site here.

Pacific Whale Foundation offers summer sessions of Ocean Camp.  Camps are available from May to July with a different theme each week.  Rainforest’s of the Sea, Spineless Wonders, and Mighty Mollusks just to name a few.  Camp hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 am-4:00 pm.  Information for Ocean Camp is viewable here via the Pacific Whale Foundation website.

Another great summer activity that is not only fun for kids but very educational is via the Maui Ocean Center.  The Maui Ocean Center has daily/weekly activities available throughout the year.  You can find more information from their website here.
