Maui Jim Maui Classic Basketball Tournament

December 14th and 15th at the Lahaina Civic Center the third annual Maui Jim Maui Classic Women’s NCAA Division 1 Basketball tournament will be taking place.

The tournament is being hosted by Oregon currently ranked 9th in the nation. Also in the tournament this year are Texas A&M ranked 17th, Eastern Washington, and University of California Riverside.

Game 1 starts at 5:30 Friday with a match up of UC Riverside vs. Texas A&M followed at 7:30 by Oregon State vs. Eastern Washington. Saturday’s schedule has UC Riverside vs. Eastern Washington at 5:30 followed at 7:30 by Oregon State and Texas A&M.

The two-day tournament had over two thousand attendees last year. This year there will be local food trucks on hand, chances to win Maui Jim Sunglasses and a package for a staycation at the Hyatt Regency.

Jazz Tonight At The Shops At Wailea

Husband and wife team Phil and Angela Benoit will be performing tonight at The Shops At Wailea. Both Phil and Angela were born into musical families. Angela is from Paia and Phil from Southern California.

Angela began singing professional in the 90’s and found her niche with jazz. Phil has been playing guitar since his teen years. Most of Phil’s music has been self taught.

Together Phil and Angela have released three award nominated albums together. Come enjoy their musical talents tonight at The Shops At Wailea from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm.

Lahaina Town Party

Lahaina Town Party is this Friday November 9th from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The theme this Friday is Celebrating The Chinese Heritage Festival.

Lots of Chinese Heritage Festival activities will take place at the Wo Hing Museum, along with tasty treats from Chinatown. Concerts in Campbell Park will include Maui Music Mission and A Slack Key band. Happy hour specials from some of your favorite restaurants all along Front St.

Plenty of vendors, ono food, crafts for Keiki and much more! Free family event!

Jazz At The Shops

Happening tonight from 5:30 pm  to 7:00 pm enjoy saxophone musician Rock Hendricks on the upper level of The Shops at Wailea.

Rock has been playing jazz music from the age of 9 after receiving a saxophone from his father as a gift. Some of the musical legends he has recorded with include Sammy Hager, Michael Jackson, and Bonnie Raitt.

This is a free family friendly event!

Haunted Haiku Hike

Looking for a spooky activity on a Friday night? Every Friday until December 28th historic haunted tours through upper Haiku are taking place!

On this hike you will explore caves, learn dark past Maui tales, secrets of the forrest, and hidden waterways. Tours last from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm and start at the Awalau Farm located at 1008 Awalau Rd.  Haiku.

Tours are limited to 20 guests and you must have a reservation. To make a reservation send an email to awalaufarms@gmail.com requesting a Friday date and the number of guests in your party.
