Boston based company Regent is looking at the possibility of a seaglider transportation network with Hawaii based Pacific Current. Pacific Current is a sustainable energy company. The goal would be to use the gliders for inter and intra island travel. Regent is currently in the process of developing a 12 passenger glider. With Hawaii hoping to be 100% renewable energy by 2045, this could be a huge step in that direction.
