Today Howard Dicus, the business reporter for Hawaii News Now, mentioned this morning on his Tourism Report that the majority of Hawaii’s Tourists noted as of today are from the West and East Coasts of the US and very few from the Foreign Tourism Industry such as Canada, Japan, etc.

Honua’ula Community Plans Moving Forward
The Honua’ula plan community in Maui Meadows was granted Project District Phase II Development approval. The project would include 288 workforce housing units out of the planned 1150 units.
The project also has plans for 24 acres of village mixed use and 103 acres for open space and recreation. 170 acres will be placed in an easement with Hawaiian Islands Land Trust.

Ukulele Festival
The 15th Annual Maui Ukulele Festival will be held on October 2nd. This is a free event from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center A&B Amphitheater. If you wish to participate in a free ukulele workshop, one will be held on October 1st at 11:00 am in MACC Morgado Hall.
Food and beverages will be available to purchase at the event. Low back chairs and blankets welcome!

If you want to enjoy some terrific food prepared by UH come visit the newly designed Pa’ina Market at the University of Hawaii Maui College. The culinary arts students provide the food and make it available to the public.
