Kula Elementary Principal Chris Bachaus is the visionary behind this new program. He wanted the students in the Kula community to be able to use science, math, and other technology and apply it to their agricultural learning and experience. The official start of the program came with a blessing at the former Keokea School site.
In October of 2016, the irrigation system was set up along with clearing and fencing the area. A van has also been purchased in order to transport the students. The program is still in need of farming tools and a shed. Once everything is in place students will be able to begin their agricultural learning experience with animals and plants.
We look forward to hearing about the success of this new program!
