Weather Cam / Beach Cam

I just wanted to give everyone an update on our Maui Web Cam. You may have noticed that the camera has been working much more reliably lately. Axis finally fixed the problem that made the camera stop working periodically. Ever since I installed the new firmware update for the camera, it has been working perfectly.

Also, I set a limit of 7 frames per second for the video stream, so that one person could not suck all of the bandwidth and make it impossible for anybody else to see it. So, now we can serve more simultaneous viewers. You may have noticed that several months back I also set a limit on how long you can view the live video feed of the beach, before you have to reload the page. I did this because some people would leave the video playing all day and that would severly limit how many other people could see the stream too. Enjoy…

  1. I have really enjoyed the updates on the webcam. I love to watch my favorite beach on Maui, and can’t wait for the day when I return.

‘Mahalo for fixing it up. It looks great.

  2. Thanks for providing the Maui Beach Cam! Checking in once a day sure takes me back to the days of relaxing in Maui, keep up the good work.

  3. Kudos to the Hansens for this webcam. I am relieved I am not the only one checking this site daily. Counting the days down until we fly back to Maui. Sadly it is many, many days until we get there. This webcam will have to suffice.

  4. We are finally going to Maui in June this year, exactly 43 more “wake-ups” until we get there. This web cam has been so much fun to watch, people watching, the tide coming in, warning signs up and down, huge waves crashing in etc. We feel as if we have already been there!

Our daughter in Tucson, my Mother in Michigan and some scattered friends across the country will all be getting together (via computer) to this webcam site on a specific day and time. Joe and I will be standing right there on that beach waving to everyone at home! How cool is that for a couple senior citizens!! Mahalo for the good times to come and for our daily Maui “fix”!!

  5. We leave Vancouver BC on the 10th for two weeks…i am counting the days..although it has been very nice here recently…but it’s not Hawaii 🙂

  6. I happened to see the blog link. I also wanted to drop you a note to say thanks for the live feed. It keeps our last visits alive. We look forward to returning this August.

  7. Wow, last time I posted was April of 2006 just before we headed to Maui in June…..here we go again! 11 days until we’re back on those beautiful beaches! We watch the web cam every single day….I often watch the sun go down on your part of the planet. Thanks once again for sharing this with us all! Mahalo…..
