Hey:
I still think that Maui is a great value. I understand that the boomers are coming and Maui should fair well in maintaining values.

Hi,
I am a huge fan of this website. I check it almost daily for the beach view! I have been to Maui many times starting when I was a kid with my parents! I have many fond memories of all the beaches.
My husband and I will be looking to buy in Maui within the next few years.
Which part of Maui has the best value so far, or is it everywhere in Maui?
Which neighboring islands would be the next best value?
Thanks a lot! CG
Hi CG,
You can get more square feet in central Maui (Kahului & Wailuku) for the price. However, if you factor in views, location, lot sizes, and peace of mind, I really think Kihei and upcountry (Kula, Pukalani & Makawao) have the best values right now as far as “Bang for the buck” with the total package. Haiku is a good value too, if you don’t mind the rain frequency.
In my opinion, all of the islands are “a good value” for what each one offers. I simply prefer what Maui has to offer. Maui is the happy medium between Oahu and Kuaui. It’s not a metropolis, but it’s not a small undeveloped island either. Maui is the second largest island, (next to Big Island) but has nowhere near the population of Oahu. Maui has a Home Depot, Lowes, Kmart, Walmart, and all of the thing you would expect to find in a normal city on the mainland.
