Opening Of Kihei Overpass

The $16 million pedestrian overpass project on Piilani Highway caused a delay in the opening of Kulanihako’i High School in Kihei. The overpass is made to be long-lasting and simple to maintain, and it is anticipated to be finished by late December 2025. The DOE is in charge of the project’s design and community outreach, while the DOT will provide the funding, own it, and run it. At a recent meeting, authorities voiced support for the project despite reservations stemming from previous setbacks.

West Maui Opening

On November 1, hotels and other establishments in West Maui, ranging from Kahana to the Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa, are scheduled to reopen for guests. This decision is the result of a gradual process after the area was destroyed by wildfires. Even though some locals are worried about how tourism may affect their community, steps are being taken to meet the needs for daycare and housing. Following the tragedy, the mayors of every county in Hawaii promised to assist Maui County.

Kihei Overpass

An open house presentation will be held tomorrow October 25 regarding the pedestrian overpass for Kulanihako’i High School. Those with school aged children may want to attend. Open house time is 4:30 to 6:30 pm in the cafeteria located in building D.
